We did our best to engage our employees on games used to improve lacking areas. The area needed improvement was exceeded and the team also benefited from a little friendly competition and also moving the needle towards the gaol. Started as management trainee working the dock. Learned inbound and outbound operations at large breakbulk terminal in East Houston. Transferred to new 36 door facility in west Houston as operations Manager for twenty years and back to the east side before company bought by Yellow Frt.

the company didn't care about their employees,real bad terminal manager that didn't have people skills and job was not very stable buying out and selling companies

very unsecure in anything you did here due to the micro manging in every aspect of the operation

Drove single and team driving. Learned safety and responsibility to ensure loads delivered on time in tact. Enjoyed working with co-workers. Hardest part was being in difficult weather and high traffic areas. Having a return trip to home.

Typical day at work, recieve incoming bills of lading, make outgoing bills of ladings, produce labels for out going freight. Contact customers for damge freight, check dock doors and cargo. assign loading paperwork to forklift drivers.

If the company remained stable, I would not be seeking employment.

Today, the hardest part of my position is that we are working with a limited staff and have been for some time. The terminal I work in is fast-paced and being short-handed can become very stressful.

Typical work day you go in get your paperwork and start your day self motivated position.

was above and beyond a normal truck shop. clean good shop tools. great people to work with and for. but shop closed.

Working with 350 Union Drivers was a challenge but rewarding when things went right. Many different personalities, but this improved my abilities to handle change.
