Coordinator II (Current Employee) – San Diego, CA – October 20, 2016
There is a lot of opportunity for growth because staff are given much more work than they are compensated for. Working with my co-workers and establishing those relationships has been my favorite part of working for the Y.
Through out my day working at the why as a camp counselor consists of providing fun and learning activities for the kids while helping them with their home work and providing a safe environment for them while we wait for their parents to pick them up.
Lifeguard (Former Employee) – Marysville, OH – October 19, 2016
everyone was rude and was never nice to me. the hours are ridiculous for a part time job and me only being a tennager. Didn't learn much of anything and when i would ask for help i would get ignored or they would just tell me to figure it out.
Assistant Aquatics Director (Current Employee) – Hilliard, OH – October 19, 2016
You work long hours and do not get appreciated. You are expected to "beg" for money which takes away from your time to get your everyday work done. The staff I looked over were amazing but upper management has no idea what they are doing.
Site Director/ Referee (Current Employee) – Cleveland, TN – October 19, 2016
Loved working with the kids in the community. I wish that upper management was more open to new ideas. Maybe more events for employees to fellowship. This was one of my favorite jobs I have every worked.
Great job for college, love the kids, awesome director
Assistant Facilities Director (Former Employee) – Quincy, MA – October 19, 2016
The facilities assistant helps oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a building or facility. Although the responsibilities of the facilities assistant may vary depending upon the organization, there are some common duties.
every day was fun because i had a friend that would worked in the same department. i learned what it was like to have a job management was amazing, i have never met anybody that cared so much my co-worker was fun to be around, we got along and talked as if we were old friends there wasn't really anything hard about working there It was fun having to work in a good work environment and make friends with people there
I really enjoyed working for the YMCA. I was able to learn more about my community as well as take care of my children while working part time. The company is very family oriented and willing to help its employees by letting them work and take care of their family. I really enjoyed working there and would love the opportunity to work there again.
I thoroughly enjoy working at the YMCA as a Wellness Coach. Being able to work one-on-one with people and facilitating their health goals, regardless of physical/mental limitations, is something that I feel I'm called to do. The staff there is incredibly qualified and friendly and I have a good relationship with my supervisors. The hardest part of the job would probably receiving a client that's high risk with a lot of very limiting factors, and being able to design an efficient and safe program that still pushes them and progresses well. The only problem with the YMCA is that I'm only part-time and only able to work very limited hours due to my other part-time job.
Its fun to work at the YMCA! A typical day at work depends in what department you work in. Co workers are great! Hardest part of the job is keeping up to date with all the programs. Most enjoyable part is getting to meet people. (if you enjoy meeting new people. I sure do!)
