Working at Yorkson Legal

  • Heather Mac in Montgomery-Houston, Texas 47 months ago
I have solid law firm experience in word processing and was assured over the phone by a Yorkson representative that she could help me find a GOOD job. I arrived on time for my interview and was told by the receptionist to have a seat and Sara would be with me shortly. The receptionist went into a closed door meeting with what appeared to be the only other two people in the office. No one was at the front desk or anywhere else in sight. I waited over 30 minutes with nothing happening. No one gave me paperwork to fill out, tested me, or any explanation as to when or if Sara would appear. Finally, with what sounded like unanswered phones ringing off the hook, I left. From this experience, my judgment is Yorkson is not a professional organization.

Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Yorkson Legal? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Yorkson Legal?

I wasted almost half a day of my precious time to go for an "interview" at Yorkson. I had the same experience as Jerrty. I didn't fill out any forms either, I was told to take a seat, and when the recruiter actually came out to speak to me - we spoke for less than 3 minutes before she said "oh, I'm sorry I have nothing available, I will call you when I do." Mind you, over the phone she was so eager to meet me and praised me on my qualifications and stated to me that she had a job available. I was so shocked I had no reaction. I was dumbfounded. By the way I am an attorney.

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does Yorkson Legal stack up against the competition?
