Pros: smoke pins, coke machines
Cons: Long walks, and not much warm weather
I started off as a rigger for zachry, then got switched to the iron dept... This is where I started learning a craft to feed my family... overall they are a jam up contractor to work for!! In the end I was a crane and rigging foreman for turnarounds throughout the plant...

Pipefitter Foreman (Former Employee), Freeport, TXApril 1, 2015
As with all employers there is room for improvement. Zachry does make a good effort to take care of their people. Most of the staff I have interacted with were well qualified and quite helpful.

Facility Manager (Former Employee), Moss Point, MSMarch 22, 2015
Pros: good pay and benifits
Cons: no job security and micro-managed
Crafts work against each other and try to make the other one look bad. Try to cut corners and let equipment stay down or take short cuts on repairs.

I enjoyed working with Zachry because they appreciated me and my performance.
Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator (Former Employee), Saint James, LAFebruary 14, 2015
Pros: they gave us free lunch once in a while, safety awards, acknowledged first year of service.
Cons: communication needs to improve between supervisors and workers.
I was running the forklift, moving material around,, loading and off loading trailers, and clean up lay down yards and debris in work area.

I learned how to operate the forklift in a safely manner around workers and work areas.

I learned how to get along with the different personalities of management and co-workers on the job.

I feel there was no hard parts in my job.

I was really happy with my job and personnel.

journeyman pipe fitter (Current Employee), Louisville, KYJanuary 28, 2015
A typical day consists of 9-10 hrs./ 7 days a week. I get along well with my co-workers as long a s they perform their work and can speak English so that I can understand them. The hardest part of the job is having to correct mistakes that someone else has made. The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to perform it to the best of my ability because I take pride in my work.

Equipment Operator (Current Employee), Spring, TXJanuary 12, 2015
This is a decent company to work for. But the work relies on the weather and lately the weather has been poor. It would be nice to have a larger salary as well. I am looking for a better employment opportunity. Looking for better pay and more stability.

Boilermaker Helper/Fire watch (Former Employee), Tampa, FL at the TECO PlantOctober 8, 2014
Pros: incentives and great management
Cons: i was a girl, so they kind of covenanted over me a little to much.
Great incentive programs. Prizes for being knowledgeable of safety practices. Incentives for showing up everyday and on time. Most of my co-workers were very knowledgeable, so that tells me that management is doing their jobs correctly and that is hard to find sometimes. I learn a lot at every job that I go to because I ask a lot of questions and feel like the more I learn the better I can do my job no matter what the task.
