I joined Zamir Telecom in 2009 as my first real foray into my chosen profession as a marketer which was a discipline I had graduated from back at university.
For me it was a real chance to show what I could do and to develop my practical skills.
The company showed great trust in me from day one and let me develop my plans and ideas as I saw fit. They were not firm believers in micro management. This allowed me to use a lot of my creativity to not only develop effective campaigns, but also to introduce new ways of doing things.
As the product was web based, I worked closely with the technical and development teams in improving the ecommerce site, the product itself and a lot of the online marketing campaigns.
We expanded to new markets within the UK and outside. This included Australia, Canada, US and Europe. I remotely managed a team of 30 in our contact center in Bangladesh as we offered 24/7 customer service.
I had the chance to learn about media buying, working with creative agencies in developing marketing collateral such as TV and print adverts.
I will go away from the company having developed vastly and feel I have the necessary skill sets to apply myself on a much larger scale.
