Pretty Ok Place
Pack/Ship (Current Employee), Shepherdsville, KY – April 29, 2013
Pros: free lunch, cheap snacks, and benefits
Cons: lack of communication and employees who don't pull their own weight.
A typical day at work consists of a morning meeting with stretching then everyone goes to their assigned areas. We have 3 breaks (the time to go and come back from breaks differs between managers.) There is a lack of communication between the managers, and they seem to be switched between departments frequently. I enjoy working with my co-workers but – more... sometimes it can be a pain. I enjoy getting my work done, but it can be aggravating when you see people standing around doing nothing. I believe the pay should be based on the rate, then maybe more people would get their work done. The hardest part of the job is staying hydrated. The area in which I work is not chilled and we're constantly having to drink a lot of water. It's only going to get worse in the summer months. The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to listen to music as I work. It helps me keep a good pace. – less

Fun place to work and pays well
Packer/Picker (Former Employee), Shepherdsville, KY – April 6, 2013
Pros: free lunches, great hours, management is good
Cons: short lunch break, crowded at times
The job was never too streesful you came in and did your work and went home. Only time the job was difficult was during peak season but everyone pulled through so the job always got done. Co-workers for the most part never complained people did their part.

Returns processor (Former Employee), Louisville, KY – March 19, 2013
Mandatory 60 hour work weeks during peak. It's just too much.

Mandatory OT, little regards to your life, legs and feet hurt from all the standing/walking. They need to hire more or have 3rd shift again. Do not recommend this place.

Super fun place
ZCLT Representative (Former Employee), Henderson, Nevada – March 14, 2013
Zappos.com was like no other place I had ever seen, let alone work at. It is never boring! Some one running around in a panda suit or people skating boarding around was the norm! I loved working at Zappos.com, the only down fall was that it consumed my life and would not allow me the time to go back to school.

Former Employee
Customer Loyalty Representative /Fraud (Former Employee), Henderson, NV – March 14, 2013
Pros: free lunch, benefits
Cons: backstabbing management.
I was talking to a new hire at my current job whom I was training, and she happened to be a former Zappos.com employee as well. Her and I came to the conclusion that if you don't drink the Kool Aid you are pretty much screwed. I was there for almost 5 years, and left on my own because my husband received a transfer out of state for a while. I always – more... on time, got great QA's, never absent, and I was still denied promotions or transfers because I refused to drink, I refused to go to team building outside of work. I have a life and a family so I don't always have time for that. Zappos put the "cult" in culture. Do not believe everything you read or see on TV about the place. There is a lot of back stabbing, favoritism, and sleeping around with management. Otherwise, the customers were awesome, and I loved to look at shoes, etc. But, until Tony Hsieh gets a grip and realizes that not everyone's lives revolves around Zappos, there will be no improvement. I do think that Amazon will be it's downfall eventually. – less

Seemed to be a great place.........
Team Member (Former Employee), Shepherdsville, KY – February 24, 2013
Pros: co-workers
Cons: overtime
Many hours on your feet and legs. Overtime, all the time~ they call it mandatory. Little regards to your family or plans. Yes, free lunches, it was fun. Management is corrupt. Watch out! So many managers come and gone in little time! WARNING~ if your on FMLA they will find a way to get rid of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many team members received write-ups for – more... really petty stuff.
I was a very hard worker, worked 110% of the time. I looked for errors and did work no one else wanted. I was fired for something I didn't do, when they investigated it, I WAS NEVER contacted. I have no more respect for this company. Corrupt Management! And the HR Manger at Shepherdsville was right in it. – less

Easy Yet Reduntant Job.
Problem Solver (Former Employee), Bardstown, KY – February 18, 2013
Much walking and standing, Not too physically taxing, Utilized computers for inventory, Free Lunch and involved many interesting people. Since it was an international port for amazon we had to go through security daily. On top of a 10 hour shift you were in line for another hour just to get in and out of the building. Low paying job.

Very interactive, team environment. Family feeling.
Customer Loyalty Team (Current Employee), Henderson, NV – January 25, 2013
Pros: work from home half the week, free lunches, great pay and health benefits, the quality expected and the environment of working in a call center was very different and fun.
Cons: there's not really any cons about working at zappos. it is always great.
A basic work day would be logging in on time to perform live chat. I would assist customers with various issues from billing to shipping to damaged items and more.

I was able to take various classes to learn things such as improving grammar, Zappos history, building company culture and more.

The management was great and all of them were easy to approach – more... with concerns, questions and just regular conversation.

The hardest part of this job would be handling 2-3 chats at a time, but the best parts of the job were seeing my coworkers and having team building. We had potlucks all the time! – less

Zappos.com
CLT (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NV – January 5, 2013
Pros: easy calls- just give all the customers what they want
Cons: managment
Zappos gives great service, but internal CLT culture is not as advertised. If you get a job at Zappos.com pretend you like everything they do even if you don't if you want to keep your job. Zappos.com say they want you to be open and honest but only if you have positive things to say. That being said it's an easy job. customer calls and has a problem, – more... give them a free order and a refund. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. – less

Manager
Warehouse (Former Employee), Las Vegas – January 3, 2013
Pros: amazon bought them
Cons: poor leadership and management, waste money but pay employees terribly
The company thinks they have a unique culture but in all reality many more successful companies do the same and are very good at it. Zappos is still learning how to be a good company. They waste a ton of money on 3rd party vendors and in all actuality are out of touch with their suppliers and vendors. They pay poorly. They expect managers to go out – more... drinking with employees which causes problems with favoritism and the appearance there-of. They make you waste a hole day interviewing with people who have no idea how, what or why they are interviewing. They claim they are looking for a good fit but God forbid if you have experience or are over 30! Now that Amazon bought them they will be swallowed up, in a matter of time. – less
