Great company to work for with many different benefits, but difficult
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 30, 2017
I worked for Zara for about a year and a half, and the experience was memeorable and challenging. The thing that I liked about working for Zara was the benefits and rewards given to the employees. You can grow within in the company, at anytime. There's no timeline of how long you have to wait to grow at the next level. But expect, favoritism.
Pros
Conmission and health benefits given to partime associates
Cons
Work Schedule and communication between the associates and managers

The hr manager needs to do her job better and too many employees experience harassment against the spanish managers.

A lot of work no promotion but some of the coworkers nice to work with.

Zara has great fashion and motivated co workers.
The hours flexible, but a bit overstaffed and no real benefits except for the store discount. Great part time job and if you show promise you have opportunity to grow in the company.

Department Manager (Current Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 23, 2016
Currently number one retailer offering all current fashion trends at a great price. Growing and changing giving the opportunity for growth to all employees. Close ties with both regional and international corporate teams in order to make the decisions applicable to your own store location. The environment is fun and challenging.

though the schedule at zara is often very tiring, zara is overall a good company to work for with potential to grow. you will often be asked to perform duties outside of your job description without compensation.
Pros
fair pay, discount card
Cons
horrible hours, minimal support, often expected to work outside of job description

Id never ever work for this company ever again
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 2, 2016
I was hired full time for the upper west side store, having to basically battle a manager for attempting to stealing my $800 sale,I quit a week after I started.HR contacted me to move me to another store(54th street and 5th ave),and the employees were all straight out of high school with drama and no desire to work. After arguing with a stock guy for not bringing me the requested merchandize for a customer and being cursed out,I put my coat on,grabbed my bag and left.(quit twice in one month). As much as I love them from a consumers perspective I'd never reccomend anyone to work for this unprofessional company
Pros
Free uniform, employee discount
Cons
Bad emoloyees, horrible communication, bad management

Stock Associate (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WAAugust 1, 2016
You can advance quickly. Its a very organized store, FOH and BOH. Good systems in place for productivity. Hardest part of the job is that there is no balance of workload. Some people are required to do more work than others. The best part is the employees.
Pros
Room for advancement
Cons
Some managers are lazy and are allowed to get away with it.

Lots of multitasking, running around, which is good for me. It's a very active job constantly on your feet. Never a dull moment. Management is always present and ready to help.
Pros
Long lunches, time goes fast, busy.
Cons
On feet all day can be tiring and aching.

Retail Associate (Current Employee) –  Huntington Station, NYJune 23, 2016
working at zara is assisting customers and to drive profitable sales, the work place is fun and comfortable. The coworkers are great, the hardest part of the job is markdowns, the most enjoyable part of the job is break and leaving exactly at 10, not only that but seeing the customers walk out happier than they came in.
Pros
hour breaks and discounts
Cons
sale

Going to school and having this location nearby was convenient. Had to get out out once I graduated. Managers come and go, some are nice and work hard, some are nice and don't work hard, etc.
Pros
Free work uniform that can be used outside of work unless mutilated at work
Cons
Corporate drama that trickles into stores
