The Area Development Manager will formulate and execute a platform sales strategy within an assigned region, drive revenue growth by penetrating the current US customer base, and develop new customers and partnerships in the enterprise and digital agency spaces. He/she will work in partnership with the US based Business Development Representative, and will carry quota for all product sales in the assigned territory. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

Effective partnering with development firms and digital agencies is critical to the role. Responsibilities involve participating and leading client and prospect meetings and engaging other corporate resources as required. Accurately forecasting sales activity and revenue while creating satisfied and reference able customers are also key responsibilities.

This is a technical sales position, which requires both selling and technical skills. We are looking for a consultative sales person who has experience working with developers and development partners. We have an extremely fast paced sales environment and want to hire a self-starter.

Responsibilities:

Thoroughly qualify leads & sales opportunities
Leverage business from new & established relationships
Strategize, negotiate & close business
Achieve assigned quarterly bookings and activity targets
Develop and implement sales strategies that result in increases in monthly pipeline and forecasts.
Perform on-site presentations and demonstrations at prospective customer sites and trade shows
Provide comprehensive weekly reports and sales forecasts outlining monthly sales and resources needed from headquarters to move deals through the pipeline.
Work with the product marketing team to define the go-to-market strategy
Experience/Skills:

Minimum of 8 years experience in a consultative sales environment in one of the following areas: cloud/cloud hosting, development shop or digital agency, technical consulting
Demonstrated ability to sell large scale and complex systems to key accounts
Extensive background in technology and platform solutions such as application development, database, business intelligence, integration, and Internet web applications.
Consistent overachievement of goals
Good written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment
Proven ability to work well as part of an extended sales team in a remote office
Ability to travel 50% of the time
Ruby On Rails, PHP, Open Source or development experience required
System Engineering experiences a plus
Bachelors Degree required. Technical field preferred.
