My last position at Zenith was isolating.
Data Analyst; Intake Examiner, Clerical Assistant (Former Employee), Woodland Hills, CAOctober 27, 2014
Pros: not applicable
Cons: not applicable
The last several years were in a position in which I worked essentially alone, with no co workers directly and no phone contact.
I only dealt occasionally with the manager of the department. While I am comfortable with some work on a computer, I found I needed contact and interaction about the job to find enjoyment. My co workers were folks that I ran – more... into at the water cooler or at lunch. The family type atmosphere that existed prior to the company being sold had disappeared, as did many fellow co workers. – less

Haunted House
Executive Assistant (Former Employee), Woodland Hills, CADecember 12, 2013
Pros: a few nice people still remaining. great cafeteria.
Cons: shadowy environment to work in.
This company is awful. The executive staff is running rampant over the subordinates and creating a negative environment. Many people have just up and quit or simply disappeared. HR is ineffective in stopping the abuse.

Overall, a solid company to work for
Senior Payroll Accounting Specialist (Former Employee), Woodland Hills, CAJune 19, 2013
Pros: dynamic, caring and skilled professionals
Cons: not applicable
Zenith has effectively adapted itself over the years to be in positive sync with the economic climate that influences the Workers Compensation industry. The company continues to be an industry leader and has built a multi-faceted and knowledgeable workforce. In a nutshell, great people to work with, great food at the Z-Cafe, (free coffee) and easy access – more... to resources to help get the work done. The leadership team is very effective and clear in disseminating its vision for the future. I enjoyed working at Zenith and recommend the company to anyone interested in working with skilled and caring professionals. – less

High energy and fast paced job.
Medical Management Nurse (Former Employee), Fresno CAJanuary 11, 2013
Pros: excellent training program
Cons: no on-hands contact with patients.
Each days must be very well organized with time management a must. Case Load is high with mandatory timelines to meet daily, weekly and monthly.
Co-workers are very team minded and available to collaborate on cases.
The most difficult part of this job was the ability to create a team mindset with the employer, providers and the patient, all with the – more... goal of return to work with the maximum medical improvement and full functional restoration. – less

Fortune 500 company with excellent culture
("MCU") Coordinator (Former Employee), Woodland Hills, CASeptember 23, 2012
Pros: gourmet healthy cafe, gym, learning culture, size, location.
Cons: legal dept. poorly managed, notoriously overworks the staff.
My first six years at Zenith as a legal admin. were difficult because of the nature of Workers' Comp defense insurance, the case loads and sheer volume of work. I gained from the constant education of employees, from software to time management, the free seminars were endless. Professional improvement of the individual was a mainstay, as well as motivation – more... in areas such as fitness (on-site gym), nutrition (healthy/gourment, affordable cafeteria), family (counseling was one of many benefits offered). Last two years as a unit coordinator allowed room to grow in communications and tune in to Zenith's role in the industry as a leader. Difficult to work in controversial environment caused by Medical Control Unit and its manager. Haven't been there since 2009 and expect the culture may have changed with new ownership. During my time there the owner, CEO gave back to the community with award-winning services provided by employee volunteering while on the clock. Company was 500 people, downsized by roughly one-third in 2009. – less

productive and fun workplace
Life Underwriter (Former Employee), Lagos, NigeriaOctober 1, 2014
Pros: conducive work environment
Cons: long hours
A typical day at work involves attending to customers, writing policies and dealing with claims. I learnt a lot about working under pressure and meeting targets. The management was very supportive and made sure the work environment was conducive for optimum performance. I had the best co-workers, always happy to help. The hardest part of the job was – more... when there was a pending job and an urgent claim comes in which required everyone's attention setting back our targets. I loved working with my colleagues, they were the best part of my day. – less
