Why Work for Us

Make an Impact

Home matters to everyone. It’s an essential part of our physical security and financial stability; it shapes communities, friendships and weekend plans. We believe that if we can help every person make better, smarter decisions about where they choose to live, we can make a huge impact – at both an individual and a macro level.

At Zillow, we build transformational tools and services that help renters, buyers, homeowners and sellers find the home that’s right for them. We are constantly reimagining how people approach and interact with this decision by exploring new technology and investing in great ideas – whether they come from an intern or the CEO.

Our mission is to build the largest, most trusted and vibrant home-related marketplace in the world, and we remind ourselves of this almost daily. Our mission drives us to stay motivated and work together to accomplish great things.

We’re just getting started.

Culture

We pride ourselves on being a place people love to work. We collaborate in small teams to tackle big ideas, which gives everybody a chance to impact what we do and how we do it. More than anything, we are a community – we care about one another and encourage each other to be successful.

People - We work for each other.

Our people are the top reason employees love working at Zillow. We listen to, debate with, encourage and support one another as we tackle complex challenges and explore uncharted territory. Our inclusive environment welcomes all ideas and backgrounds, and our award-winning benefits shaped by our employees help create an environment that encourages work-life balance, not burnout.

Diversity is a critical component of our core values at Zillow Group. We recognize that our employees’ unique perspectives and experiences are as valuable as their skills, and we strive to maintain a culture that is both open and inclusive, with an emphasis on creating a work environment that mirrors the diversity of our local communities. It’s an integral part of who we are as a company, how we operate and how we see our future.

Autonomy - We own our careers.

At Zillow, we have options and opportunities, not prescribed tracks or timelines. We encourage you to explore where and how you can make the greatest impact to the business, then we help you find a way to make it happen.

We believe employees are grownups who know what’s best for them. Our policies and benefits reflect our commitment to employee choice, independence and accountability.

Benefits

Zillow believes that benefits and perks should be as unique and dynamic as the culture and people they support. Our benefit programs embody the Zillow core values and provide employees flexibility and choice. Zillow benefits are comprehensive and competitive, and meet the needs of helping employees effectively balance work and life today and in the future.

Some of our favorite benefits include:

Health – We help you and your family stay healthy with a choice of plans that cover 100% of employee premiums and 80% of dependent premiums for medical, vision and dental. We hold on-site fitness classes including yoga and meditation at many of our locations, and we offer a wellness reimbursement that you can use toward your fitness dues.

Family – Our award-winning benefits – fully paid maternity and parental leave, comfortable nursing mom rooms, free breast-milk shipping for traveling moms, adoption assistance and care resources for your whole family – help you meet the needs of your loved ones while building your career.

Time Off - Take a break with discretionary or accrued paid time off. Our Designated Time Off (DTO) policy allows employees to take ownership of their work-life balance and have freedom to make decisions based on their needs.

Equity Choice – As a part of Zillow's compensation package all employees are able to choose how they would like to receive their stock – in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs), stock options or a combination of the two. The program allows employees to tailor their equity-based compensation to their long and short-term financial goals and needs.

Sabbatical (“ZG R&R”) - After six consecutive years at Zillow, employees are eligible to take up to six consecutive weeks off of work to recharge and reboot (“R&R”). During their sabbatical period, employees will still receive benefits while taking time off to pursue their passion, spend time with loved ones or otherwise take time to develop personally and professionally.
