Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Planning the Sr. Supply Chain Planner is responsible for purchasing, planning and maintaining inventory levels both in our warehouse and at our suppliers (components). This position ensures timely, innovative planning development and execution.
Essential Job Functions:
Determine purchase order amounts and timing based on vendor lead-times.
Place purchase orders for all replenishment raw materials, components and finished goods.
Manage and reconcile all 3rd party locations inventories.
Negotiate with vendors on pricing and invoicing.
Resolve vendor related pricing and invoicing issues.
Build and maintain vendor relationships.
Coordinate scheduling of shipments from our vendors to butter LONDON warehouse.
Coordinate purchase and use of shared components with Product Development.
Manage drop shipments to a third party customer location.
Lead role in managing all vendor related product returns and claims including dealing with vendor and coordinating internal functions (e.g., working closely with Distribution Center).
Create and manage work order builds from components to finished goods.
Balance work orders to capacity plans to ensure orders are built in a timely manner.
Assist in managing build details and timelines.
Liaison between Distribution Center and Sales with inventory issues.
Responsible for tracking and maintaining adequate inventory levels at the Distribution Center and at vendors.
Evaluate and report on current inventory weeks on hand including discontinued and excess.
Enter monthly inventory adjustments for butter LONDON retail location.
Maintain and update product life cycle status codes.
Minimum 3 – 5 years purchasing/sourcing experience. Must have strong negotiation skills.
Minimum 3 – 5 years production planning and inventory management experience.
Experience working with both US and foreign suppliers preferred.
Excellent communication skills; ability to be effective at all levels of the organization, demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills required.
Excellent project management skills. Ability to take ownership of a project and effectively prioritize work to meet company requirements.
Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and as a member of cross-functional team.
Demonstrated problem solving skills; highly motivated with sense of urgency.
Highly analytical; ability to assess situations using statistical and qualitative analysis and make recommendations and/or decisions to meet company needs.
Flexible and well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Confident in understanding and explaining the ways operational metrics reflect and influence the business.
Adept at working with Excel to compile data and perform analytics.
Exceptional Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite.
NetSuite or similar experience strongly preferred. Experienced with MRP systems.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Sitting for long intervals.
Travel as needed.
