Position Summary: Reporting to the IT Administrator, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of the company’s computer network and systems operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Primary Accountabilities:
a. Supervisory responsibilities: n/a
b. Install, configure and maintain the required hardware and software for network services, equipment and devices.
c. Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
d. Supports network, data storage and computing infrastructure.
e. Test and document system behavior, performance and security.
f. Performs troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems.
g. Documents network and system problems and resolution for future reference.
h. Works with technical team to manage all system back-up and restore protocols.
i. Manages user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus.
j. Supports administration of user systems.
k. Supports administration of servers and server clusters.
l. Oversee software and network security by enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Essential/Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
a. BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic/Software Engineering or applicable field of study
b. 5 years of related work experience required
c. Strong experience with Debian Linux
d. Strong experience with design, installation and maintenance of SAN architecture
e. Strong working knowledge of networking hardware and protocols
f. Strong working knowledge of Cisco networking devices and systems
g. Working knowledge of Microsoft networking technologies, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and domain architecture
h. Working knowledge of Linux based networking technologies
i. Working knowledge of Citrix XEN desired
j. Extensive experience setting up routers, firewalls and VPN devices
k. Experience with IT security environments
l. Experience in assembling new systems, installing operating systems, drivers and applications
m. Excellent hardware, software and network troubleshooting and analytical skills
n. Strong documentation skills
o. Knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH compliance desired
Work Environment and Physical Demands: The noise level in the work environment is usually low. The technical staff uses Scrum methodology for non-emergency work prioritization and requirements gathering. Requires moderate to fast paced deadlines. The need to work late and/or on weekends is required. Handling computer equipment, lifting and carrying boxes of equipment, working with wiring and using hand tools is required.
Location: Yellow Springs
Travel Requirements: Regular local travel (less than 75 miles) is required. No overnight travel.
