Department Supervisor – Digital Print is responsible to coordinate daily production needs and quality control within our Digital Printing department. The supervisor oversees Lead Artists and Artists along with the ripping of files, the quality of prints on our various digital printing technologies and the meeting of client deadlines in accordance with the company standards set by gtc.Artists With Machines.
Essential duties include (but are not limited to):
The supervision of all department assets including staff, equipment, inventory and consumables.
A working knowledge of machine operation and maintenance.
Overseeing of color matching on a job to job base to fall in line with client approved proofs.
Close coordination with the Department Supervisor – Digital Prepress to make sure output and job processes matches any and all client specifications as directed by the Project Manager(s).
Maintaining department inventory, equipment and adherence to safety standards.
Knowledge of the following is required to be considered as a possible candidate:
Advance skill in Adobe Illustrator working with color management, vector images and typography.
Advanced skill in Adobe Photoshop working with raster based image manipulation, color correction and retouching.
Understanding of color matching and management between various production methods including RGB and CMYK.
Base understanding of RIP software and their color management processes.
Comfort in working within Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

Communicate clearly and effectively with members of outside departments integral to a given project’s work process.
To think creatively when met with problems and issues with jobs as well as employees.
Developing new way(s) of approaching production methods.
Desired Education and Experience
Two – Three years of experience in a grand format digital printing environment.
College Diploma in a related field (Digital Art, Print Media, Printmaking, ect.) or trade school equivalent.
Additional experience with grand format printing equipment in combination with High School Diploma may also be considered.
