As a Sr. Engineer with deep Python expertise on the Open Storage team led by Director of Engineering, you'll be working on critical components of our newly launched Archival Cloud Storage product.
7 years of development and a strong command of OOD with 1 year working with Python
Experience building clustered or distributed software server systems such as messaging buses, application servers, SQL or noSQL databases, web servers or cloud storage systems
Experience building massive scale storage systems (S3,Atmos, Swift, etc.)
Database Experience (SQL or NoSQL)
Experience programming in multiple languages; Python preferred, C/C++, Java, Ruby desirable
Understanding of threading, performance tradeoffs and how to locate bottlenecks in a distributed system
Understanding of reliability, performance and durability issues related to massive storage
Experience using a range of open source technologies and frameworks
Exposure to OpenStack or experience with companies using OpenStack
Experience with building, or integrating distributed configuration, monitoring or logging systems
Experience with XSLT or data transformation.
Experience designing and building high data reliability or durability and high availability architectures
Working as member of a team building the core functionality for a highly distributed, low-touch cloud storage product with high levels of availability, durability, and performance and that leverages open source solutions
Developing the infrastructure needed to deploy an object storage system into a production cloud storage service
Managing the interface between the client and the storage system (authorization, authentication, multi datacenter replication)
