What we’re after:

We are currently looking for part time IT all-rounders to help set up the system pre-event and provide on-site support at events. Applicants must have a can-do attitude, work well under pressure and be able to proactively maintain the system during an event. Applicants must be happy to work evenings and weekends when necessary.


1. Set up the iBid system (training provided)
2. Set up a local wireless network at the venue
3. Configure and calibrate the wireless networking
4. Trouble shoot any technical issues during the event
5. At times, direct client communication

Skills required:

1. Good IT support skills – problem solving skills are crucial
Diagnosing and fixing PC hardware
Troubleshooting and fixing Windows XP / Vista / 7 issues
2. Good understanding of wireless networks
Plan, deploy and troubleshoot wireless networks
Set-up and diagnose wireless network connections on a variety of devices - including PDAs
3. Good understanding of computer networks in general
Ability to set-up and troubleshoot network equipment and cabling

Additional skills would be a bonus:

1. Basic knowledge of MySQL and database systems in general
2. Basic knowledge of configuring / troubleshooting web servers
3. Linux experience

Salary: Up to $120 per event (plus expenses)
