A busy Interventional pain practice is currently looking to fill a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner opening for their Newark, DE office. The PA-C/NP will be responsible for providing routine patient care in a clinical setting and ensuring that effective service and quality patient care is given, along with maintaining high clinical standards in accordance with the clinic’s philosophy and current policies and procedures. Good communication and customer service skills are required.
1.) Perform complete physical exams, pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluations and record findings.
2.) Order and interpret diagnostic studies (i.e. x-rays, MRIs, CTs, Dexa Scans, Vascular Doppler and EMG/NCS)
3.) Establish a diagnosis, determine a treatment plan, implement the necessary ancillaries, order additional and selective studies or laboratory evaluations.
4.) Consult with specialists and interventional physicians, as predicated by the case’s diagnosis and severity.
5.) Draw up and administer injections, oral medications, and other clinic procedures.
6.) Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances and authorize prescription refills.
7.) Instruct patient and personal representatives regarding medications and treatment instructions.
8.) Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes and transcribe orders.
9.)Triage patient telephone calls, answer questions and provide consultation and education to the patient and personal representatives.
10.)Provide monitoring and continuity of care.
11.)Perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
Provide supporting documentation and coding information for all health care services provided.
Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
Protect patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA Privacy Regulations.
Valid state Physician's Assistant License
Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Graduate of AMA approved Physician's Assistant Program.
1-3 years experience
Valid state Nurse Practitioner License
Bachelor’s Degree with major in Nursing from a State Board of Nursing approved school.
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program (Masters or Post-Masters Certificate)
1-3 years experience
