What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at ACS?

What do you like best about working at ACS? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

That is why they have so many positions offered -- the pay scale for all their positions are low -- until you get to the excutive level. For example, General Manager or Divisional Vice President. You will get worked very hard and not get rewarded. The benefits are not good..neither is the 401k plan.

In Austin, Tx they are starting a to pay people by piece rate. Which is a joke, they have the rates so low it is impossible to make money. I advise people to stay away this place!! unless you like to work like a dog and not get paid ...

They also pay piecerate in Utica, NY. That would explain why all the established reps left...

They pay piece rate for MANY positions.. so that means you don't get raises. When you ask about this they tell you you are "in charge of your own raise". Well guess what? They recently CUT piece rate across the board for a particular task because people were "making too much money"!

How's that for "being in charge of your own raise"?

They love to add responsibility without upping the rate, and any time it's brought up, they will hold a team of 40 accountable for 3 slackers and say that they cannot possibly ask the client for an increase with those (3) people screwing up. The "team" mentality is seriously off the charts there, into the realm of ridiculousness! They use it as an excuse to never ever reward an individual.

They have remote workers. They use this (the fact that you telecommute) as an excuse for every crappy aspect of the job.. low pay, non-stop demands on hours (on-call without on-call pay), working 7 days straight for months on end. Complain and get reminded "well at least you don't have to come to the office!"

These jobs are for the very desperate or those just needing "extra" cash. That's for sure.

IBC is garbage!! So is ACS!!...btw dont forget to ask why only low level employees are on IBC...you know the guys who are doing all the work...funny how the people who didnt have an issue with it were the ones who werent forced on it... I pray since i left they were so at least now they can understand its hard to pay your bills, apply for loans, or anything in regards to finance when you are going to recieve a mystery check every 2 weeks...and to top the cake...you have a short time to dispute your paycheck b4 its set in stone and that time is all but taken up when waiting for managment to calculate your pay...so by the time you get paid if their is an issue your told well you shopuldve said something sooner...its like working in the twilight zone where supervisors and managers are set on some kind of autopilot with the same answers and an i dont care about you attitude...

Do you get paid by the week or every two weeks?

Yes. It got paid by every 2 weeks. I'm in IT department and ACS pay 50K - 10K for experienced technology workers (excluding architects). The health benefits are OK as I pay only $15 for cheapest medical plan. The 401K co-match is horrible and there is no bonus. Overall, the pay is not competitive to other companies and I will change the job very soon.

Can you explain the appraisal and compensation for employees at ACS? How are employees appraised? How are they compensated? What is the activity-based compensation? This is for a grad school HR project. Thanks.

Hey, I recently got an offer from ACS for employment in IT as a Desktop Support Technician. Is there anything to be worried about here? I will be soon purchasing a home for my wife and child to live at and don't need any surprises. My job now is "ok" but pays slightly less.

I heard from an ACS insider that the company lays people off frequently to keep its stock at a certain price. However, once stock prices return to an acceptable level, they will often rehire people who are laid off. It's a good company to work for if you can deal with that level of stress.

Yes, but are the staff who are laid off "disposable?" By disposable I mean, are there several people doing the same exact job function? In the location I am going to, there will only be myself and one other person in charge of IT support for the building. Is my position one that will be treated with a higher level of respect? Any response is appreciated more than you could imagine.

I actually just started working for ACS and the compensation is good, depending on which company inside ACS you work for, some pay $11 hr + $2 (or something like that per call). My team started out with $13.5/hr for first shift $14.17 is you go to second shift, which is very good in NC, and the group hired after us got started out with $13.75/hr first shift. But they do lay off frequently and sometimes for no reason, without warnings, I've seen it happen, and to management!
