I have numerous times tried to submit my resume and make follow up calls. All I ever get it is 'we will contact you'. I am happy to say I found a career with a different employment agent that took time to work with me to find a career fit. I would NEVER contact these people again and hope no one else wastes the time to do so. |

Or similar: they wanted my most recent employer (fine) and then to talk to my manager. She is out sick and has been for two weeks. I told them to contact HR and gave the phone #. They won't do that, HAVE to talk to her. I have 6 other refs and they stated that they called them and got positive feedback. But without my prev manager, won't place me (I got high test scores as well). They wanted her home # and I said no, out of respect for my manager. I hate all temps!!!!! |

I agree with all the things that are being said about AccounTemp and Robert Half. Ten years ago I spoke very highly of them and had worked for them before, but I could never work for them again. They are very unprofessional and they are all about the $$$ and how much can be put in their bank account. I contacted their corporate office about the branches in Memphis TN. I spoke with the corporate division manager and told her that I felt as if the Memphis branch treated me like a slave because they wanted me to take any job and any salary they offered me. Then the branches would document this negative information on your file. I have more than 15 years of accounting experience and a college degree. They wanted to pay me $10 an hour and that was not the salary I signed up for. The recruiter at the downtown office told me I would have to swallow my pride and accept the salary being offered me. Then on another occassion I contacted the same recruiter for a position that their computer send me an email for and she said she felt I was not qualified for that position. Their job postings online are all lies. I am so happy to know that it's not me feeling the way I do about this company, but this is happening in many areas. |

I AGREE, I HAVE 15 YEARS EXPERIENCE AND SOME EXCEL, NOW THEY TELL ME YOU NEED A DEGREE, OR HAVE TO KEY SO FAST, OR KNOW MORE EXCEL THAN I DO, ANYONE WITH A DEGREE WILL NOT STAY IN AP FOR 10-13 AN HOUR ? SO THE EMPLOYERS SHOULD LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCE TOO, PLUS I AM OVER 50 TOO, I THINK THEY HOLD THAT AGAINST ME. |

I joined their Salaried Professional program in Sept '05. When I moved to another city they refused to grant a transfer until after the move was complete, which made getting a home loan just loads of fun. After they graciously allowed me to continue working for them it took them TWO MONTHS to place me. We had to use all of our savings and then borrow from a friend just to make ends meet, not that Accountemps cared. They placed me with a hospital that was not so much interested in an accounting professional (I have a background in IT, bookkeeping, and business admin) as they were in a file clerk. When I complained the client cut me loose. I love the company they placed me at next. The people are wonderful and the job is exciting. A position opened in my department, so I applied for it. The company wants to hire me, I want to be hired, but Accountemps is doing everything they can to stop it. I'm looking into getting an attorney to fight them. I wish I had never heard of them. If you're thinking about working for them - DON'T! They are greedy, lying, and uncaring. Do yourself a huge favor. Seek employment somewhere else. |

Well, that's odd. If you're an IT/bookkeeeping/business admn professional, surely you can find a "better" job on your own. It sounds like you're misguided in your career goals, Sonny in Saint Louis. At least you have a job while the rest of us struggle to find something, anything! |

Yikes! I have experienced the same scenario. I wasted four hours of my precious time and gas money - I was interviewed by three recruiters in the Oakbrook, IL office and given hope that I would be placed immediately. Not so much, everytime I call or email the branch I interviewed with,I have been made to feel that I am a pest, condescended to or blown off entirely. I received an email that I have saved from Sarah Edwards (Oakbrook, IL office) that I am frivously wasting her precious time and to in a nutshell be patient and to suscribe to the old addage - "Don't call us, we'll call you" While I know I am very tenacious, I did not expect to be humiliated, ignored and made to feel less than worthy of placement. I was also told by Heidi Lancaster at that same branch that they were overwhelmed by positions and lacked the candidates to fill said temp positions, I have applied to a myriad of positions that I am more than qualified to be assigned, also to no avail. I will be posting this same commentary with RipOff Report.com and the Better Business Bureau so that no one else be subjected to this degredation. |
