Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at ACE CASH EXPRESS?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

First of all, Patrick Martinez in HR is rude rude rude. He will talk down to you, lie to you, and cheat you out of money. He's the worst HR person I have ever met. HE SHOULD BE FIRED.

A little company history....I've been with this awful company for four years.

ALL OF THESE ARE TRUE STORIES. TAKE THEM INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE APPLYING FOR THIS COMPANY!

A Center Managers son was on the way to the hopital, via an ambulance, the day care called her and told her. She called the District Manager, and the DM said, "Sorry, but you can't leave your store, you must stay and finish out the day". Of course, the center manager left to be with her son. That's called abandoment of job, so she lost her job. They have no sympathy.

Another CM who had been with the company for over 8 years closed the center 800.00 short one night. She had never had shortages before. They fired her. Two weeks later, they discovered the computer glitch which caused the shortage. She was told she could return, but they would not pay her the money she was out during the two weeks she was fired. She had to sell all her vacation time in order to pay her bills. Mind you, the District Manager closed short 995.00 at my store about a month ago, and she was not fired. The money was never found either! Also, they have made it to where you can not sell your vacation time any more. So, if this happens to you, you are just SOL. They have no heart.

Another CM who has a two year old, and has been with the company for two years, had to call in once because her daughter had impetigo (SP?) Basically staph infection the kid got from the day care, and another time because the kid had the flu. Those two days, are the ONLY two times she called in the entire year of 2008 - currently. The second time she called in because of the flu, the DM told her that she was going to demote her because she "needed someone more available". They have no consideration.

Also, they fired me this week because policy 501 states that if you give and finish your two weeks advance notice you will be paid your remaining vacation time.

So, the loophole is that they will just fire you a day before your two weeks is up so they don't have to pay your vacation time.

Another friend of mine, gave her two week notice and the DM asked her if she could please stay because she was so short staffed. So, the CM did, and she stayed for another two weeks after her notice was over. Then when she went to collect her vacation time, they said that because she stayed after her notice was over, it made her notice void. They said that it meant that she quit without giving another two weeks notice so they did not pay her either.

The turnover for this company is HIGH FOR A REASON.
