Do you work at Advance Auto Parts? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

I did a web search for "automotive" jobs, and only got an interview when I dropped my salary requirements to minimum wage from $10-$11 an hour.
The "interview" consisted of one question: "do you want the job or not?" My skills and experience did not matter, all they wanted was a warm body to work the cash register.

Stay away....Managers lie through their teeth to get a cheap hourly employee, keep them part time so benefits cannot accrue, constantly change their hours and keep pay to a bare minimum.
Working with 5 yr employees with raises of $0.05 cents per hour (maybe).
Better off working as a burger flipper and knowing what hours you are going to is the same.
Other comments researched note the same comments....all they want is a warm body for as long as they can hold them. If you have any brains this is not the place for you.
