Hi. I was wondering: the salary listed as low 30s to 40s by the person replying to a post in an earlier thread...is that for full-time or part-time work? Anyone know? Thanks! |

ASM has numerous and different types of positions. Mainly though, the have "Retail Merchandiser" positions which are Part Time, $11-$13 per hour with no benefits and "Retail Sales Merchandiser" positions which are usually Full Time with benefits and travel expenses. (The Part Time positions pay travel expense after a certain amount of miles but they assign you close to home so I would think Part Timers rarely qualify for travel expenses) The "Retail Sales Merchandiser" postion starts at about $27K-$28K per year. It is a position where you have a territory of assigned stores (some reps. have all Walmarts and other Reps. have every other type of store except Walmarts) which you repeatedly visit on a cycle of say every 8 weeks. You are representing one Company like "Proctor & Gamble" and you go in to the stores and, using a hand held computer, you make sure all of the "Proctor & Gamble" product is being merchandised correctly and communicate with the department manager to increase sales. This position has a set monthly travel allowance and a set monthly gas card amount. (Most say not enough with today's gas prices) ASM has all of the desired benefits which you pay a portion of. My impression of ASM is that they are very large and many times disorganized in dealing with employees due to growing pains. The have many different divisions representing many different companies. A Regional Manager of one division would not even know the name of another Regional Manager in a different division even if they lived in the same town. |

District managers may not know one another based on the fast paced quickly changing advancement of employees. It may not seem like they know what is going on but that again is simply consistent change and constant growth in company benefits and opportunities within the company. |

A strict company policy of employees is to not discuss salary with other employees. The best way to get detailed information on salary offered is to qualify for a position within the company and list your salary requirements on your resume which if in range of the position being offered would qualify you for an interview. |

I don't think it would break any rule to say that I am SURE that low 30's to 40"s is a full time job. |
