I actually worked as an internal employee for Aerotek for just under two years and these comments do not surprise me at all. I would say that 85% of the time I never really felt like I was helping someone out with a job, but almost scaming them into taking a job because I had to hit my "goal" for the day or they would make you stay at work until you found another person. They promoted this "professional" atmosphere where the men that worked there had to wear suits and women couldn't wear capri pants or open toed shoes in the summer. But the atmosphere was anything but professional. It was more of a fraternity house, where the men threw balls around all day and putted golf balls around when they were bored. They also promote a Team atmosphere, but your partners wouldn't think twice about stealing your candidates when you got up away from your desk. They would also expect percentages of your commissions if they helped you out by doing reference checks or meeting with someone...What a team, right? It is also a place if you want to work 12 hours a day...then sign up to work at Aerotek. They make you get in at about 7:30 in the morning and then if you try and leave @ 5:00, people make comments as you walk out the door..."do you work bankers hours?"...Ridiculous. In addition, when you go to interview with the company they ask you completely unprofessional questions ie: "why as a woman do you want a career?" or "Tell me about your biggest failure in life". Basically the company is like a revolving door. Most people don't even stay for 2 years because they can't take it. It is good as a young adult graduating college to get your feet wet...but then i suggest you get out! |

I guess this info is 6 months too late, but good to know! Thanks, I tried working with them and a lot of talk but no much substance. |
