I recently worked with Advanced Workforce, Inc. (AWI) in Schaumburg, IL. I'm a .NET developer and I absolutely despise getting calls from recruiters. I've never had trouble finding my own job; But when Josh, a Recruiter from AWI called, I wanted to work with these guys. They placed me in an awesome situation and I'm still with the same company. They are a bit young, but they are very professional and truly care about your needs. I would recommend working with these guys, but keep in mind that it's always good to keep your options open. The more recruiters/people you know, the better chance you have at getting good opportunities.

What have I done? in Phoenix in Chandler, Arizona said: I just started a job in Phoenix with Aerotek, but live 100 miles away in Tucson. They promised me a rate plus $50/day per diem. Well, that per diem was nothing but a tax-fiddle as their idea of this benefit is making the first $50 a day tax exempt. So, all I really get is $7.81 per day as the difference between what I pay in tax. That also reduces my Social Security rates as I am not being seen to make as much and my average will go down when I get my statement at the end of the year.

Now, after a 51 hour workweek, i found out that they only pay overtime rates agains the TAXABLE portion of my wage. This goes against all of the contract documents that I have signed with them. The only explanation that I get is that it is corporate policy.

Anyone know a good lawyer? I'm serious!

I have also done research on this. Look up Gagnon vs United Technisource, Inc. May 2010. Not only did he win the case for his overtime rate, the company had to pay $55,000 in legal fees. Sometimes justice is served. Good Luck

Hey you in Louisville, Kentucky

I wanted to work for a health insurance company here in Louisville because I have a healthcare degree. I went to Aerotek and worked with a girl named Lindsey Bilderback and she was so eager to help me. She told me that the position that she had for me would be a perm posisiton. So after I put my 2 weeks in with my previous employer who I was with for 5 years I take the assignment that she had for me. Well on my first day the manager told me that he had no intentions of making the position perm and did not know why the agency told me that. Well, it felt like a ton a of bricks fell on me and now I'm in a position where I have no benefits, no vacation time, NOTHING!! I am very unhappy and sad everyday. I am eagerly and desperatly hunting for a new position.

I am registered with Aerotek in Charlotte, NC. The recruiters there have lied to me for the past couple of months about a job position. They lead me on with information and never come through. They have even called me with a job of great oppertunity along with a start date...well let it be known, they were to get back with me with more information. After waiting to hear from them for " what seemed like forever " I called my recruiter. Well...like always, the receptionist answered on the first ring to put me through to the recruiter who then tells me the job has been put on hold! Bull...t! Screw AEROTEK.

What happened to customer service and honesty? I really think age discrimination is a factor. Older workers want and need to work also.

Corstaff in Rock Hill is just like Aerotek in Charlotte. They will drag you in, get all your information for their own benefit. I think they get paid on how many people they drag in. After that, you are just a number!

The way i see it is that yes Aerotek is being called upon by companies
to recruit employees. You sign a contract, for however many months
with a promise to be hired on permanet. In that amount of time
Aerotek is getting a big cut of your pay sometimes as much as $10
of your hourly wage. Its true you get no benefits, no uniforms, no
respect from permanet employees. But lets take a look at who is to
blame here. The company, trying to save a quick buck by not giving
you benefits or anything you are due for your hard work, and they
also determine that contract length with Aerotek. So you tell me
who is to blame? they use each other to get over on the hardworking
employee and they both win while the employee loses. So bottom line
stay away from Aerotek, if a company will only hire through them,
then it gives you some insight about that company and how they take
care of their people. Keep in mind that being laid off while
working for a temp agency will also cheat you of unemployment
because they can essentially place you anywhere.

I applied for an aircraft mechanic job through Aerotek about one week ago. In one weeks time I have been contacted, offered a contract job, and placed with a MAJOR aircraft company in Savannah and I start working with them in about one week. Everything has gone very smooth and the recruiter that I have dealt with out of Savannah has been very easy to work with and decently prompt in calling me and responding to emails. Maybe I got lucky and just haven't experienced the problems that others are. If something changes course and I get screwed down the road I'll update, however no problems at all so far.

Just wait!!!!!!! I looked up all the people in the Loveland office here in Colorado. Not one had Mechanical Design, Engineering, Etc. background. They all have "Buisness Degrees". In other words "Car Salesmen" if you know what I mean. They are a bunch of "CONS". Good Luck......

Don't even waste your time with this company. I usually don't write or post anything online but Aerotek is such a bad company and I believe people need to know about it.

A staff made an appointment with me but when I showed up...they said he was sick and had the day off!! They could've called me to reschedule before making me drive 30 minutes to their office!! Some lady interviewed me instead but had no idea what position the original staff had for me! After 5 minutes of an awkward and pointless interview (she doesn't sound like she knows anything), i got sent home. BELIEVE ME STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! EVEN IF THEY CALL YOU TO TALK ABOUT AN OPPORTUNITY...JUST DENY AND HANG UP!!!

I'm from Louisville and I've dealt with Lindsay Bilderback too. She is a *****.

Here's a story I shared about my experience with her from a different comment board.

One time, I applied for a job with Aerotek to work as an enrollment processing clerk for a health insurance company. It was entirely data entry which is a skill I am highly distinguished and proficient in. I met all of the requirements in the job description so I knew I would be a perfect fit for the position. Upon applying, the online application did ask me to include three references in my resume which I did.

I received a call from my recruiter (Lindsay) shortly after applying and we set up a time to meet the following day. She e-mailed me a link to some online tests which I took from home. I did very well on them – 13,000 keystrokes per hour on both tests and 100% accuracy.

Here’s where it starts to get hairy. After I took my tests, I received another call from her telling me that she couldn’t verify two out of the three references. She said she called one of the places I worked, the Census Bureau, where I was a temp in 2010, and she claimed they told her they had no record of me working there. I didn’t believe that for a second. Then she told me my second reference wasn’t good enough because the person who oversaw my work didn’t actually SEE my work, therefore they could not give her a reference. She proceeded to ask me if I had any other references I could give her. I don’t, because most of the other places I’ve worked have been in retail or fast food and they are out of business (Circuit City, Linens-N-Things, to name a few). Next, she asked me if I knew someone I might have done volunteer work for, like a church, who could give me a reference. Really?! I’m looking for a job right now, which has become a full-time job in itself – I can’t afford the gas money to drive to and from a church or whatnot to do volunteer work, and volunteer work doesn’t pay the bills.

The last time I did any kind of volunteer work was when I was a candy striper in middle and high school.

The references I gave her were good references. I just knew this woman was bsing. She said she’d try my other reference to see if she could get it and told me our meeting for the next day was still on. I called back later and canceled the meeting because I already knew I’d be wasting my time. I’d show up and she would tell me that if I didn’t have two other references I could give her, she wouldn’t be able to sign me up for the job, because Aerotek requires three references.

References shouldn't matter when you're applying for a job and the fact that they asked me for as many references as they did was insane.

It's all about the bottom line with recruiters and they will say anything to get you to sign on the dotted line like Lindsay did with "Hey You" when she told him/her the job they were going to be placed in was permanent, when in reality it was just another temp job. Lindsay did what she had to do to get that commission and in the recruiting business, you'd be surprised how many recruiters will lie to job seekers just to get them to sign that form. Then, ca-ching! She gets her commission, while you are stuck in a job that wasn't what she promised it would be. She, meanwhile, could care less if you're unhappy.

Moral of the story: don't waste your time with Aerotek, OfficeTeam, Kelly Services, or any other staffing agencies. They are a huge waste of time - most of the jobs either don't exist or if they do actually exist, they are low-wage garbage you wouldn't want anyway. Another rule of thumb - anytime a job says TEMP TO PERM that ALWAYS means temporary - it does not mean permanent and you will not be hired on as a perm after the assignment ends. Stay far away from these organizations.

I've seen a lot of negative comments about this staffing firm after I went to my interview. I almost didn't accept the position I was contacted for but I'm glad I did. Once my 90 days are up I become an employee of the actual company I'm contracted with. I love my job and work hard and get paid very well.

I will say I had to make many visits to aerotek's office to get everything setup and ready for my position. They didn't just hire me. They went thru a very extensive interview process. They called all my business references which wasn't an I issue cause I know what kind of employee I and. I was just a little thrown off cause the impression I got from here is they will accept anyone to get positions filled.

My recruiter is awesome. She has been nothing but professional, kind, and upfront with me. I don't know how it is with them in other areas or states but for me they have been a God send. I actually found out after getting hired with them my dad actually worked for them contracted for Tyco pharmacies and had to work for Aerotek for 4 years before Tyco hired him as their employee.

All I can say is for me they have been great. I'm sorry others have not had.the.dame experience I have had.

Staffing companies only place a very tiny percentage of people they talk to. Think about it...how many times do you apply directly with a company and are asked to come in for an interview or even get a response? A small percentage. Same with a staffing company....So, if you go with a staffing company, don't EXPECT them to get you a job. They are just an added resource. I wouldn't blame Aerotek for not finding you a job.

However, I would blame them for not acting ethically, lying about a permanent position, not calling you back...that is unacceptable, unprofessional behavior!

My fist job at aerotek is 1 week after project done im gone, my second job is 2 weeks same thing I worked 8 hours per day - 30 mins lunch time, 20 mins for break time = 7h 10mins per day. Thanks god after 2 week no more job over there and i'm done. Honestly, if u work for aerotek u have a wrong choice, every check they pay for me alway less than i think.
