Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Affiliated Computer Services? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Affiliated Computer Services? |

The office culture is a family oriented, team environment. We have different groups and each group defines the business dress. For mid-level profesionals and above it's shirt and tie. Anything at a clerical level is business casual and we have casual Fridays. If you are interested in a career at ACS please contact me at 214.887.7782 |

In Cary, NC, on fridays, the women dress like streetwalkers jeans so tight on huge butts and high heels. The men dress like gangsters and act like it too. It is total Ghetto! |

I worked at ACS for almost 2 years. It was the worst job I've ever had. There is absolutely no reason to apply at ACS. Just don't do it... resist the urge. I read the blogs before I interviewed and because I was desperate for a job, I felt I had to interview and try to get a job there. After accepting their job offer, where I was told there would be a 401k match and a bonus, I found out a month after my start date that there was NO 401k match or bonus. Seven months after working like a dog for them 10 to 12 hours a day and on weekends with no OT pay, they gave my whole department a 5% paycut. It took me 18 months to find another job. If you don't kiss @ss and suck up, you will not be promoted. If you have any solid skills or intelligence level and your boss feels threatened by it, they will sabotage you and do their best to make you look bad. I found out from other employees that I worked with that my manager was blaming me for his mistakes. If you have any good innovative ideas they are also seen as threats or they will be manipulated slightly and your manager will steal them. There is no respect for your home life and they wouldn't let us telecommute. There is absolutely no flexibility. When I was hired, they told me they were flexible. When I had to take my daughter to tutoring, oh we don't offer flex time here and you will have to get approval from your VP. The directors and managers talk out both sides of their mouths. Lies, lies, and more lies. ACS has promoted or hired people that do not have the skill set to be a manager, director, or VP. The reason ACS is hiring so many people is they can't keep staff on because of the poor treatment and offshoring they are doing. If you want to be disrespected and belittled, go ahead, post on an ACS job. |
