so, Lincoln Place occupants made homeless and new shoes for the children of an Aimco project in New York. I guess they are preparing them for the next redevelopment project. Incubate those slum properties... buy the little brats some shoes so when they are homeless they can walk the streets better. Here's the paraphrased article:

Beacon, N.Y.—Denver-based AIMCO (Apartment Investment and Management Co.) has partnered with United Way of Dutchess County, the Community Foundation of Dutchess County and The Susie Reizod Foundation to provide shoes for children living in the Tompkins Terrace Apartments, an AIMCO-owned complex in Beacon, N.Y.

Distribution of the new shoes coincides with the start of the new school year in local districts. This is the second collaborative effort between United Way of Dutchess County and the Susie Reizod Foundation to provide new shoes to area children in need.

“There is nothing more basic in human need than proper shoes for children, especially as a new school year begins,” says Anne Beaulieu, president and CEO of United Way of Dutchess County.
