What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does stack up against the competition?

A little unspoken fact is that Amazon is hurt in this economy just like any other retailer. In an attempt to fix it, they have been cutting their fixed costs by (quietly) firing their Area Managers in the FCs over the past 12 months. Having said that, I think they are in a strong position to dominate the retail market share once we come out of the recession. As proof, I shop online primarily at because of their competitive pricing, which is lower than online Wal-Mart or Barnes & Noble.
