AIG's turnover is ridiculous they have the same adds over and over. Thank God I am employed but still like to look at the ads from time to time and AIG has been advertising the same position over the past year!!!! Go figure. If you think of applying - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!! |

maybe they can't find the right person or the newly created position keeps coming out. I believe they look for many UWs since the (*name removed) stepped down... Good for you coz you are employed, but I have been for an underwriting position since the end of last year and yet to score one. AIG is kind of cheaper in terms of paying the salary, but again it's one of the most stable companies in the US. Go figure! |

Wasted my time from GA in Atlanta, Georgia 77 months ago |
Interviewed recently for this position. Wasted half a day, interviewers had no energy or enthusiasm, and I began wondering halfway thru interviews why they were wasting my time. Very disappointing experience, did not get offer, as expected. Appears to me that they still are not clear about whom they consider the 'right' person - pretty patheric when the position has been advertised this long. |

I once worked in the Department looking to fill the position. The supervising attorney is a NIGHTMARE. Very bright but nuts. |

I worked for AIG for about five months...that was all I could take before I gave them my letter of resignation. My boss had multiple personality disorder and the payroll people made mistakes on my paychecks regularly. I have been told by friends that still work there that twice in a row the people hired to replace me have also quit. It's just not a happy enviornment. |

I applied for a position here as well as 2 co-worker investigators. They could not give us any set wage or benifits. If your resume is not 100% accurate on your resume, you can't even be 1 day off in your dates, you will not be condisered for the job.

AIG is one of the worst companies you have to deal with when you do personal insurance. Their employees are under-educated, uninformed, and utterly useless. There is no quality whatsoever to the people this company hires. If you want to get yelled at by customers and personal insurance agents, day in and day out, because your company doesn't teach you anything about insurance or how to help out customers, feel free to work for AIG. I can't see how anyone could ever be happy or proud to work for such a lackluster company that cares only for making up the money it lost in its HUGE lawsuit. |

I applied for a position as well at AIG in the Atlanta office about 6 months ago, and you were right they wasted my time, I know that I was over qualified for the position but they did not call me back or even give me a reason, Three people from AIG grilled me for like 2 hours asking ,e about this and that, and I nailed them all, so I don't know if I was over qualified or if I was just not the right person but I do think they should write individuals and let them know that they did not get the position. |

I applied for this job when it was listed in Jan. 2007. The pay is ridiculously low, below $30,000. I agree with "Wasted my time from GA in Atlanta, Georgia." They don't seem to know what they want. They obviously want someone with a lot of experience and education, but are not willing to pay a reasonable rate for it. |

I also interviewed and wasted a half day of my time. I could tell 5 minutes into the interview that my current job was a walk in paradise. I have also heard they pay extremely low. |

It is well known throughout the insurance industry that AIG is a total waste of time and a swaet shop for those unfortunate souls who actually susrvive there longer than 6 months. I have over 22 years in the business and have known a number of people who have worked at AIG and its always the same..go in, hold on to your jewels and then run out like mad. |

I've applied for numerous positions (particularly in web) which I thought were perfect fits at AIG and have never been contacted. I realize now that everything happens for a reason. After reading many of the negative feedback I guess it's a blessing in disguise. In my honest opinion, I think they post jobs just to see how many responses they get. Plus, I've seen positions posted which lists many responsibilities, but yet they only want to pay a penny for the position. What's up w/ that? Bunch of cheap buttheads. |

True story: AIG chased me and chased me for a management job, and finally got me to come across state lines for an interview. I traveled twice to Milwaukee. Then, nothing...no calls, no screw you letter, nothing. I called the HR Director, who did not return my phone call. He also had my email address. He didn’t bother to do anything. I saw the job posted again today. Rude would be the way I describe the company and it’s management. There’s no call for that kind of behavior. I should have read the posts on Indeed.com before I agreed to go, however, there was no link in the AIG postings. I had to come to the forums to post. What happened, Indeed? Please fix this and save us time and trouble. I’m now glad I didn’t get the job if that’s how they treat guests, imagine how they treat employees! Since the AIG Indeed forums are scattered about, I intend to post this on every one I can find. |

Sorry, I typed the response in Word, then cut and pasted it. Seems Indeed doesn't translate fonts... |

These people appear to be liars as well. I am a former federal agent who applied for a job with AIG as a safety consultant within their transportation department. The contact within AIG was a Mr. Randy Foster in NYC. He stated he was most impressed with my experience. I never heard from him again so I contacted him. He told me they were going to promote someone from within........OK, I understand that. Subsequent to that e-mail conversation, AIG ran the exact same job advertisement on two separate occasions approximately 3-weeks apart, with the most recent being August 7, 2007. I must therefore assume either AIG people tell untruths, or AIG doesn't want anything to do with we so-called experts. After all, who knows more about the federal rules/regulations/laws more than a person paid by the U.S. Government to enforce those rules? |

They're looking because their comp is generally sub-market, their bonuses are not as good as their competitors, and the organization is generally plagued by its own culture of mediocrity. It's also interesting that when applying for positions on their website, their salary question on current/desired doesn't go above a certain level. If you select the "Over XXX" option, it's instant death to your application. Very telling point. |

I work for AIG, for almost 3 years now... don't ever apply here!!!!! You will be underpaid, overworked. Its a horrible, horrible place to work... Not-employee friendly is an understatement...They lie, manipulate to get what they want out of you, and disgard you like nothing... I myself am trying to get out... |
