Tax Season is so great!

I have heard all the hype about how much fun it is to work in the branches during tax season and all the hype is so true! Not only do the days go by quicker but the pure joy on the customer's face when they come in get their taxes done that morning and that afternoon most of them have checks waiting on them! And not only do they have checks waiting on them, but we can the check for them. I can't tell you how much it means to work for a company as great as Amscot, not only do they take care of me and my family but our customers and their families too!

yea tax season is sooo great we get to swindle customers into cashing their tax checks with amscot and if they decide they would rather deposit it for free instead of paying 2.5% we get threatened and harassed with our job . then we are told "just cash it and if they dont want to pay the fee reverse the check" but first call your district leader. who then will accuse you of not having the gab to convince them. amscot takes care of our families? well if your family is the corp office then thats absolutely right! otherwise you will probably see your beloved fam about as much as a army soldier in iraq sees his. no matter what these people come here to lie about all you have to do is ask a employee in person and see the look on their face . (make sure u dont see a plain clothed person in the backround when u ask b/c this would be the district leader.)

Why are we hearing so much from the Amscot sheit-job people? That first post is obviously from a 20 year old. It was funny. We all know the truth about Amscot.

You seem to have quite a few issues with Amscot-and so do I. However more than a few of your complaints seem to contain a lot of opinion which tends to hide the valid points you bring up. I don’t believe we swindle customers into cashing their tax refund checks. We do try to sell them on the benefits of cashing their check-not everyone has the luxury of depositing a check into the account. If you need to cash your check in a hurry we provide that service.

But I do agree with you that tax season is not always pleasant, and extremely stressful. Although the company makes a big deal about tax season, it seems to catch them by surprise each year. When the first checks start to arrive there is never enough cash available to cash the checks. This happens every year! You feel like an idiot convincing the customer to cash their $5,000 check, only to turn around and give them $1,000 in cash and money orders for the remainder.

There is lots of pressure to cash the customer’s check. However, some people don’t want to cash their check. In years past we used to hold checks hostage and not give the check to the customer unless they cashed it. It’s gotten much better, but the pressure is still there and it forces employees to badger and beg the customer to cash their check. When the customer does finally agree to cash their check it is usually out of frustration and a desire to get out of the store. I’m certain no one at the corporate office would tolerate this same behavior from the cashier at the McDonald’s drive-thru.

Hey, CurrentAmscotEmployee, I don’t want to get into some sort of war with you, because you bring up some very valid points. But please stick to the facts and leave the editorial at home. Opinions are like a**holes-everyone’s got one and they all stink. If you stick to the facts Amscot might take people like you and me seriously. And, if they do that, maybe we can have this conversation in the open.

Susan, I have a suggestion for you. Take your comment and print it. In ten years, read it. Use it to evaluate how much you have grown and changed. That comment is just too juvenile.

Amscot RAPES their customers in tax preperation as well. Paying $100+ for the service then Amscot charges them 2.5% to cash their hard earned tax refund. The customers are stupid to begin with choosing Amscot for their tax services. I love the smart ones who state they're going to their bank. Then my "leader" will start saying well your bank will put a hold on it blah blah blah. I agree w/ the customer when they choose not to cash it. There are some smart ones who negotiate the check cashing fee & usually Amscot goes along w/ it. I can't wait for Walmart's money center to step up w/ bill payments & higher check cashing limits. Make Amscot Amscared!!!!!

LOL couldn't put it better myself . they expect to train people for a week and compete against real tax experts? what a joke. then they get upset when someone doesn't want to bend over and take it . and rather take it to the bank. but we feel the sting of the GODZILLA and the burn from MOTHRA . we are lucky that this is AMERICA because if this was Scotland they would probably behead us or instate primae noctis. i feel like we are victims of oppression and have a king EDWARD THE LONGSHANKS as our dl.
