Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at amscot? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at amscot? |

I’ve posted several comments on this website recently and just today I stumbled upon this thread. I’ve read many of the posts by others and most fall into either one of two camps: the first is the “I love Amscot, everything about it is great and I’m never leaving” camp. These people are difficult to have a discussion with because as soon as you bring up any unpleasantness about Amscot, they quickly “love-bomb” you (like in a cult) and shut down all conversation. Any negative criticism is seen as a threat and any open conversation about ideas that might make the situation better are never heard. Amscot management almost never responds to these posts…for obvious reasons. The other camp is filled with very angry people. I believe these people have a right to be angry but a lot of their anger is directed towards one specific individual or situation. Although this anger might be justified, their posts are usually so vitriolic as to be dismissed by management as too shrill to be engaged in civil conversation. This is unfortunate as some of these post voice legitimate concerns, and would be heard if only they were clothed in a velvet glove. Regardless of which camp you may fall into, I welcome honest, objective debate. My hope is to make a positive impact on our firm. The fact that I am posting the anonymously speaks volumes about the corporate culture at Amscot. Perhaps management will read this post and participate in a lively discussion of aspects of our jobs which can be improved rather than provide the boiler-plate answers which Charity supplied as Amscot Financial in other posts. These are exactly the type of group-think answers which stifle creative discussion. |

Amscot SUCKS in Clearwater, Florida 38 months ago |
the only office setting is @ 600 N Westshore Blvd. Every Amscot retail location is a PRISON!!! I swear to it. You get no designated normal breaks such as 15 or 30 minutes. Unheard of. You will be overworked by working inhumane shifts of 12+ hours. Once I was scheduled 18hrs. I bitched & luckily it got lowered to 12. how nice. You may work til 11p one night & the next morning report back @ 620a. If that's not enough to make you feel proud at work, you also are Amscot's maid. When branch closes you have to clean the disgusting teller windows, vaccuum the floored mat at door entrance, MOP the floor & empty all the trash & there are at least 10 trash bins & tidy up elsewhere that's needed. This company friggen sucks. I wish I never accepted employment. Meeting for drinks is unheard of cause there's always someone working a shift opposite yours so it's impossible to unite as a team outside of work. All around AMSCOT is a TERRIBLE place to work. I ignored the survey cause I didn't want to either lie & promote the company or tell the truth & fear gettin fired through that crappy email system we have. |
