Gap between applying/ getting a call

Hi,
I just applied for 2 different retail sales jobs that AT&T posted in my area. I am currently also seeking a position with a smaller regional provider. I have a second interview with the regional in a few days, but haven't heard anything back from AT&T yet.

What is a normal gap between applying, and AT&T contacting you?

I would love to hear what AT&T has to offer before accepting this other position. Would it be a good move to approach the AT&T store managers, in the stores I applied for? Could they get the ball rolling on this?

I applied online in the beginning of july a couple of weeks later HR called me for a phone screen. Another two weeks went by and a recruiter contacted me for an in-store interview on July 28, 2009. The interview went well but I haven't heard anything back from At&t in over 6 weeks so from my experience their hiring process is pretty long. Good luck trying to get the ball rolling because its hard following up with them and they don't give you any contact info either.
