Anyone work as a Sales Consultant with AutoNation? What kind of income can one expect? Are the benefits as good as they say they are?

20% of gross - $50 - minideal
Bonus after 12 cars -
95% of all cars 20,000 or less most likely
will be mini deals....

Health Insurance is very expensive
although you can get an inexpensive one with $1000 dec
for less around $100 a month...

You should expect to pay more than $200 for regular health insurance w/medicines (20 dec or doctor visit and so forth)

In order to make $5000 per mo
you need to sell 20 cars plus per month...

Average sales person sales 10-15
10% of the salesforce sells 50% of all the cars
90% of the salesforce sells the other 50%

unfortunaley average salary is about $2000 for the 90% of the salesforce the other 10% makes between 5k to 9k per month...

Work hrs ranges from 65 to 75 hrs per week...
Sale ratio is 3 per every 10 writeups...

IF YOU WANT TO GET INTO THE RETAIL AUTOMOBILE BUSINESS DO NO THINK ABOUT AUTONATION, THEY DO NOT PAY WELL, MANAGEMENT IS INEPT AND INEXPERIENCED, GO TO A SMALLER DEALER THAT IS WILLING TO TRAIN YOU PROPERLY.

THE LARGE DEALER GROUPS ARE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PLACES TO EITHER OBTAIN AN ENTRY LEVEL OR SEASONED POSITION, THE TURNOVER IS SO HIGH YOU DON'T KNOW FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT WHO YOU ARE WORKING FOR, MANAGEMENT FOR THE MOST PART ARE ALWAYS ON SOME SORT OF EGO TRIP WHICH NEVER LEADS TO A PLEASANT WORKPLACE

I did a month at a Sonic store, sold 9.5 cars, no clientele just working the ups, and made a huge $1700......got my joke of a check, cleaned out my desk and left
DO NOT WORK FOR A CORPORATION AS A FLOOR SALESMAN!!!
