It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Baker & Taylor?

Any advice on striking the right note?

Apply online and if selected, expect a call. Questions are "have you done merchandising before? How much experience, interest level, Can you read a POG? (planogram) which is a schematic layout of specific products to be set in a particular order in the allotted space. A schedule and times are arranged-most are flexible, all data is inputted into the computer, as are your assignments given, with specific instructions to print out, so be familiar with computer use and taking photos periodically and inputting these. If selected- a regional area rep will arrange to come to one of the stores and train you. For myself-I set all the books (main area), craft booklets (crochet/yarn), wood working books-pretty much all books in the Michael's. At times you set and clean the Sharpie pens, pull discontinued items-whatever is required-but this is all spelled out for you. All the best-a great company to work for...
