I applied for a quantitative analyst job.

I have done all interviews and got an email immediately from the HR. (I was interviewed on Friday and HR sent me email on Monday). HR said they got very positive feedback from the HM and were going to work on a potential offer. They called me and asked me my desired salary, locations, etc.

Now after 20 days, no updates. I sent HR an email the Friday before last and no response....

Does that imply I cannot get the job? Can I contact the HR? I am very desperate.

Any advice? Thanks.

did you make sure your email was titled correctly and directed at the right people? i'm sure they receive a lot of emails from prospective candidates and without the proper direction they might just throw yours aside. ex:

"This is john wanting to know my current status."

should be

"This is john doe in tulsa, ok i was wondering if the HM amy singles has made her final decision regarding my position for quantitative analyst job number JA104848"

& in case their inaction was because they decide to go with a different candidate do you have a backup plan?
