Do you work at Bankers Life and Casualty? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in? |

The first interview is a group presentation after which you fill out a questionaire and they call you back for a second. the second int. is 1 on 1 and fairly laxed. You basically need to spend hundreds of dollars to get licensed and trained and they offer no bennefits or travel compensation. |

Hi,I got hooked on the hype with these people.Be ready to spend at least $1,000.00.You need to pay for insurance school, test fees, license fees, finger printing, business cards. If you do not have a lap top then you have that expense, and you need business attire, briefcase, etc. They seem to be ok if you have a lot of your own money to pay you bills for 5 months. And if you can live off 45K. Of course I was told average agent makes 70k that's why I went through this. Be ready to try to convince old people to buy insurance on the phone. You must be a telemarketer,You know like the ones that bug us and we hang up on. You must call hundreds of people a day from lists that are very old if you get lucky may be you can book some??? This can work if you like working 80hrs + a week and you do not mind being on the phone 20hrs weekly.Oh you get no health, life benefits for you and your family from a INSURANCE COMPANY??????? |

I submitted my resume to the WIS-TV10 Job Fair the last week of May seeking administrative employment. A woman from Banker's Life & Casualty called me to tell me that they had an administrative position they wanted to interview me for. The woman said she would email me the information (address, time, date), I did not receive the email until the day before the interview (real professional). When I arrived in the lobby there were other people checking in for "interviews" too, I should have known something was up and walked out, but I thought just maybe they were interviewing other people various positions. I was escorted to a full conference room. They wasted two hours of my life for a presentation on selling life insurance, not to mention that I had to travel through three towns. That woman knew full darn well that there was NO administrative position, and that they were only looking for agents. I wanted to give that manager an earful before I left, but there was another woman talking to him and she just would not move or leave so someone else could talk. I should have expected anything more from S.C., this is I think the second time this has happened to me here. A few years ago I received a call to interview for an administrative position and when I got there they were trying to get people to sell water filters. |
