Karen said: I need a job with health insurance benefits. Can you tell me if a Part time or a seasonal bookseller employee receives insurance benefits? Seasonal employees do not receive benefits. Part timers(20 hrs/wk) qualify for benefits after one year. Also, P/T benefits are less comprehensive than F/T, but still pretty good. |

Also, P/T benefits are less comprehensive than F/T, but still pretty good. I have been working at a Barnes and Noble for almost a year. (I also worked at the same store for a year several years ago.) I called HR at B&N and was told that you have to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, EVERY SINGLE WEEK for a year in order to be eligible for benefits. I asked the HR Rep what would happen if I slipped below 20 hours for a week. Her response: "We immediately send you COBRA paperwork." Although I have asked and asked for more hours, it's just not happening. |
