Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Becton Dickinson & Company (BD)?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Becton Dickinson & Company (BD)?

I have worked at BDB (Biosciences) in San Jose for almost two years now. The San Jose location encompasses a host of different departments with their own unique subcultures. Manufacturing and warehouse are obviously more relaxed in dress code than other departments like Engineering, Doc Services, Sales, etc.; but people tend to get along well enough.
Employees try to get together sometimes for potlucks, happy hours, etc. which are open to anyone who would like to participate, but turnout can be unpredictable and events are usually sporadic.
A typical day at BDB is probably similar to most large companies. Some days may require a great deal of teamwork/collaboration and others may require more independent work, with some people sticking to themselves mostly, while others know almost everybody.
