Kinda scared now

I went in to apply a BBB last week, having noticed a sign posted for hiring outside the store. I got an interview immediately with the manager who was standing there, and was offered a job the same day. I start tomorrow!
After hearing so many negative things about the company, I am kind of scared... anyone who has worked for them have any thing to say about the place? Anyone still working for them? I'd like to be able to work my way up to management someday...I've never done it before in previous jobs (although I have been promoted once within a year from cashier to floor associate)...how does one manage to do this? Stupid question...but I am curious as to people's experiences.
