What exactly does an Asset Protection job consist of?

It seems like you just walk around looking for shoplifters? Is this job mainly for entry-level 16-17 year olds?
Also, non-commissioned sales.. is it more pressured selling where you need to sell things alot in order to have a future or is it more like just walk around and answer questions and see if anyone needs help.

The thing about non commissioned sales is you need to actually enjoy what you're doing. There are still stresses about numbers, and if you work in a non commissioned sales corporation you'll come to realize that quickly, that district puts on you. So mainly, it's a job where you have to enjoy what you're doing, and at least trying to make sales.
As far as asset protection, we have a range from 21 to 31. You have to be certified now in order to work, which best buy will put you through training for, depending on your location. I'm not sure how it is in Louisiana. In Florida though, they have become strict because of legalities, which especially in south Florida is understandable.

They are the people at the door with ear pieces, mainly to check receipts and watch what comes in and out of those doors at the front. standing 100% of the time. watching live feed from cameras and watching for thefts but thats not your priority.
