So I get an unsolicited telemarketing voice message from the BBB to tell me that "several potential clients" are checking out my employer on the BBB web site and the rep asks to speak to my company's owner. (Yes, this is from the *real* BBB.)
We don't do business with the public, we don't advertise. So this sudden increase in interest in our company seems likely fictitious. The job of a BBB Accredited Sales Representative is to sign up businesses with the BBB. By being coy in the voice message about what it is the rep is actually offering, BBB's motto "Start With Trust" begins to ring hollow.
