Perhaps if you had someone to help you with your grammar and spelling potential employers would take you more seriously. |

Woldeab has a point, but you've got to remember. The workplace you want to work for speaks English. Maybe you should apply for a job using your first language? Big Dawg gets points for having a really cool name. |

Woldeab, We are trying to help you in your search. That's one of the main goals of these forums. We are not saying anything negative about you personally. The point is, if you are applying for a job that is mainly English speaking area, maybe you may need some assistance with your English. Just as if I was applying for a job in Germany, even though I speak some German, I would need to be fluent. HOWEVER - you have a talent that most don't have. MANY companies are looking for people who speak multiple languages. Have you thought about trying to get a job, even entry level, that would need someone who speaks more than one language? These jobs are becoming more valuable - and usually you get a better salary. See, you may have a skill that you didn't realize you had. To make the best of it, maybe you can network with someone who can help you with English and you can help them with another language. Where I live, learning more than one language is almost becoming essential. |

Woldeab, If you want any employer to take you seriously, then get serious about improving your written grammar. It gives the impression that you are undereducated and not worth hiring. I have no idea what your background is, so for all I know you may have a PHD speaking 5 languages (impressive). English is the dominant language in this country like it or not. And there is no shame in having a professional librarian helping you at a PC filling out an application. It is their job and I'm sure they would love to help. Simply ask. :-) |
