I am currently awaiting my background check to clear. Yesterday i recieved a letter in the mail via fedex stating that my background check has raised concerns for my suitability of being hired. The only thing i have on my record is a dui which i did not disclose due to the fact that the application stated i didn't need to list any charges that i took pretrial classes for. Unfortunately i misunderstood this and did not disclose it being that i took pre trial classes for it. The letter also states that i am to contact boeing security background screening which i did and haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you think that this means they will select another applicant indeffinately or do i still have a shot at getting hired? |

yes, went thru the same sort of thing. The question is some what not clear but hopefully you can clear it up. I had a pending court issue for a dui which eventually got turned down to a neglegent. I had not been convicted of anything at the time I thought but apparently since that was not diclosed they said I was dishonest and would have to wait 18 months before i could apply. Good Luck! |

Yes, I got the same fedex package an hour ago. Were you able to resolve the issue?

In what time frame did you receive your letter regarding the background check and them needing more informatoin? Was it within the 10 to 15 days while the background check was being run, or was it after the 15 days were up. My friend was told in the information she received, that it was a 10 to 15 day waiting period for the background check to process. Thanks. : ) |

Fraser in Tacoma, Washington said: Yes, me too. I got that fedex letter too an hour ago and left a message with boeing security screening. Did you hear back? and more importantly, did you manage to resolve the problem with them? I had one of those letters too. In my case it came on a Friday afternoon. I called security and didn't hear back until the following Tuesday. I had to sweat it out. Turned out to be nothing big bt it did correlate exactly to what showed up as a "concern" in that report that came with the letter. For me it wasn't a legal issue it had to do with a previous employer so when I talked to Secrity it was no big deal. Unfortunately everyone I have talked to who had a legal issue that was not on their application but found in the background check has not had a good outcome. I hope that's not the case for you. |

I am curious how far out they are schedling. I had a choice of one a week from when they called or the next one was a month out. Luckily I got the earlier one since I didn't have a curent job and no one to give notice to. What position are you getting? |

Wow... we're waiting to hear back from our rep. My husband got "cleared for hire" but we're waiting for the rep to wrap a few things up. I just assumed we'd get a 30 day window. Do they give you a choice? |

He called the # right away (yesterday) but hasn't heard back... |

I have a question and wondering about the outcome. How is an adjudication withheld viewed, by Boeing Security? And how would that outcome turn out since you did disclosed it from the start? Thanks... |

I really dont know, just really felt like i was a criminal. I had also called global and told them of the situation and would have hoped they would have helped me with that. That was before the background check had gone thru.... |

Andres in Miami, Florida said: Hi, Hey, I'm in the exact same situation as you. Were you interviewed at the event in Seattle March 17? I talked with a guy from Miami that day. Anyways, I was offered a position March 24th and accepted. Within the first week I cleared all my contingencies.... except the background check. Guess what? I'm still waiting on it to clear and tomorrow it will be 5 whole weeks. I'm anxious to start working so that's what makes it so hard to sit at the job I have right now, and wait for a start date, but I don't really have a choice do I??? The only thing I recommend is to keep in contact with your staffing specialist. After 4 weeks, I gave him a courtesy call asking how the process was going. He said he would put in a status request to Boeing Security and BOOM! I get a call from Verifications, Inc. an hour or two later. |

Guzag,
Today I got an email that all my contigencies were cleared. Now I have to pick a day for the orientation.

My name is Alex, by the way. Besides that, congrats on clearing your contingencies. I'm unfortunately still waiting. I'm not too sure what the delay is. I haven't had any legal problems, but I have had a variety of part time jobs. I'm just guessing that might delay it a bit. What were the choice of orientation days they gave you? Where are you going to be working? |

New2Seattle in Washington said: jettingtoMars; There is no high horse. Idiots that are drinking and driving should get what they deserve. There's no need for it. Sure people make mistakes but there is no mistake about picking up a drink and getting behind the wheel. Well, one drink wont hurt ya but we know DUI is more than 1 drink. There's just no excuse. I sure don't want to die out there on the road nor does anyone. and customers in the skies don't want to deal with a hung over attendant, drunken attendant, etc... Simple mistakes like DUI leave a bad impression forever on ones image like other simple mistakes like having a record for stealing and assault for example. Makes you look irresponsible, untrustworthy, careless, doesn't think straight, etc. All basic attributes you need as a good employee |
|
JettingtoMars in US, Virgin Islands 12 months ago |
correction in above statement- I meant in the example of working in the skies for example, if you have a DUI on your record. Or even if you want to be a cop for example. These little things would make a police dept not trust you because you could maybe let someone get away with things. Just saying |

DUI are being over issued.
If I owned a business I would certainly hire someone REAL with a DUI on their record instead of a pompous, lecturing, know it all |

milo in Kent, Washington 12 months ago |
I have to wait 18months before being considered again since my issue was pending. They said that its was not because it was a dui it was because I had not disclosed it. I ended up with a neglegent anyways my husband works there and has told me of all the drug addicted people who work there and many others with dui's. Yes, get off your high horse! |

HELP! HELP! HELP! Ok heres my situation I currently got invited to Seattle for a personal interview for a aviation technician (A&P Mechanic). On the background question it asked that you disclose any misdemeanors or felonies and i said "no" because below it applied to California residents that if my case was dismissed, or my probation was terminated I did not have to disclose anything, well I have 2 misdemeanors and 1 was for public intoxication in 2007 and the other for a dui in 2009, I know what I did was stupid and irresponsible for both situations and i have learned my lesson. I quit drinking and went back to school to better myself. My question is i had my 2007 case closed because i paid all fines but my dui I had a early termination of probation in April 26 of this year. I'm currently trying to expunge my dui but the clerk at the court told me it could take 3 months so my question is should i be concerned because I did not state this cases or should I not worry about cause I paid all fines, did all the classes, and attended all AA meetings so technically the case must be dismissed and because Boeing clearly stated on their disclaimer for CA residents if the misdemeanor was dismissed, closed,or probation was completed i did not have to state them. Anybody please Help!!!! Thanks |
|
JettingtoMars in US, Virgin Islands 12 months ago |
Just go on that notion, if it says you dont have to state it for CA residents because it was dismissed closed or completed probation, dont disclose it. They could see it but it says you dont have to state it. If they disqualify you later, feel free to try to inquire to why, if it's related to any of that you stated |
|

but at the same time, if they see it, dont feel bad that they dont hire you because of it. DUI is almost like murder. Sure you learned a lesson I hope, but it could be.. what it is.. |

Sure you learned a lesson I hope, but it could be.. what it is.. Thanks Man trust me i cleaned up my act on drinking, pretty much jumped the band wagon, I rather make money than give it to the courts, my background is mainly those 2 events and the judge gave me early termination because i showed him my transcripts and I completed everything the courts required so again THANKS and i understand if they don't hire me but I'll look more into this and see cause technically my dui case should be closed and i do have paperwork. Again thanks |

Oh I just hate seeing people freak out like OMG i dont get this job because I didnt disclose something, or i didnt get a job because of a DUI... well, if you dont be honest if asked, then you deserve it. If you dont get hired for something like a DUI, then kinda deserve it because the severity of that. One thing to admit stealing a candy bar and getting arrested as to possibly putting yourself in danger or others.. ha |

Does anyone know about financial disqualifications. I had to talk with someone about my background check and they asked me to send in an email regarding my financial history. They didn't say it was disqualifying, but they didn't leave a good feeling inside after the call. Has anyone had similar experiences for some info that could help. I would like to know if their are actual disqualifications during the back ground check. |

It depends on the job title, i think. From what i read in the washington state laws about it they only take your "credit score" into account when you are up for a job which requires you to deal with money or assets or if you are an exec and or the salary is more than 75k a year. I guess there could be other reasons but my financial history is a mess and they never questioned me about it. I know someone who was basically living in their car when they got hired so I don't know why they would be questioning you about that. What job are you up for? Not to pry but could your financial issues have leagal ramifications? Maybe it's a legal issue they're concerned about. |

My wife and I filed bankruptcy in 2005. They had me send in an email explaining the issue and that they would get back to me. My credit has been pretty good from that point on but you never know. |

How far back does the Boeing background check go? I disclosed everything in the past ten years, but I didn't disclose a dui I had back in 1995. Would that disqualify me for hire? |

Just wondering if anyone knows what agencies boeing uses for the background check? We pulled from the Washington State Patrol site but didn't know if they pulled from a different one? HELP! |

Just wanted to add my experience with the background check. I was offered a job in the engineering/calibration department. In my early years I had problems with alcohol and had 3 DUI's so was very afraid to list them. But I did and expected to fail the background check. They called me one time to ask for the exact dates and citys - I told them - figured that was the end of my job offer - and then I was cleared for hire. I have had a clean record for the past 14 years so maybe that helped but I think if you are just honest about what things you might have messed up on, it will all be ok. I sweated it out and it turned out ok. I start at the end of June and am very happy to get hired on with Boeing. It did take 3 weeks from the offer until I was called and told of my start date so that seemed to take forever. But it is a huge company so I guess things move slowly.

Kinda strange...People are saying they listed " everything " for the past years on the background but I could only see a spot for one thing. Any input? Do they ask you for the other stuff later or as long as you list thing you are good? |
|
shelley7711@hotmail.com in Everett, Washington 11 months ago |
Ok, so after looking at the application there was only one spot for a offence on the background. So, I just put the most recent thing from 2007. I see people saying they listed " everything " I only saw a spot for one thing. Any thoughts? Did I miss something? |
