Waiting in Seattle, Washington

I am waiting on a background check to come through before I can start work. On my application I left off 2 jobs from about 5 years ago, both of which I was only at for about a month and left both on good terms, but left off because they were not relevant for the job I was offered. I have never cited them in the past and have gone through background checks with other employers with no red flags. Will this be something that I will need to address with the verification dept.???

I'm awaiting my BG clearance from Spirit.....Does anyone know if they abide by the same procedures as Boeing?? I can't find info anywhere. My deal is....When I filled out my paperwork, I really and truly forgot about tickets and a public intoxication. So, I only listed 3 tickets, I called the courts and had them pull my records and turns out I had 5 tickets and the PI.
Would BG of called me?? Or would they immediately terminate me??

Hey, so I have a contingent offer for an internship with Boeing. The only thing I am worried about is the background check. I got furnishing charges very recently, and I did disclose it on my application when I filled out but I was not specific at all. I got the fedex package and I am curious if anyone can put into perspective the likelihood of them withdrawing the offer?

The same incident I got the furnishing charges, I also got something called unlawful act which I didn't explicitly state on my application b/c I figured it goes hand in hand with furnishing alcohol to minors. I am very worried I will get my offer withdrawn. Please shed some light on this situation at all.

Mu husband had a port richey background check before he was hired at the Marriott. He had a small charge for something he did when he was 18 and they were very understanding and wanted to help it get cleared as fast as possible. I'm sure if you explain it was a misunderstanding on your part they will understand. Hope everything worked out! www.livescanflorida.com

I recently received a job offer at Boeing and got a package from fed-ex saying that there were concerns about my background check. The investigator called and said that it looks as if I falsified my resume. He stated that it looks like I have my bachelors; I told him the same thing I told the interviewers and the investigation people “I do not have a degree”. I did my resume on the Boeing website and one of the questions was have you graduated, of course I marked NO. The problem is that apparently they don’t see that when they print the resume, and are saying it’s my fault that I did not include a specific comment about not having the degree somewhere else in the resume. Anyone know anything I can do?

I am currently going through the same thing in regards to Boeing background checks.Even with the past 10 years with no criminal or credit history problems along with good job references I recieved a fed X letter along with the background report saying that my suitability is in question for hire. I have a current active clearance and totaly surprised with this process. And "NO" im not hiding anything from them. Over all the hiring process has been but of a head scratcher and has taken 5 months in total! yes 5 months. So now Im waiting for the "CALL" and have been in contact with the Hiring manager and HR rep to get any help to speed up this process.

Yesterday i recieved a letter in the mail via fedex stating that my background check has raised concerns for my suitability of being hired. The only thing i have on my record is a dui which i did not disclose due to the fact that the application stated i didn't need to list any charges that i took pretrial classes for. Unfortunately i misunderstood this and did not disclose it being that i took pre trial classes for it. The letter also states that i am to contact boeing security background screening which i did and haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you think that this means they will select another applicant indeffinately or do i still have a shot at getting hired?

Boeing thinks there so much better than everyone one . Tell them to go to hell and work for someone else boeing will run out of people and then they will fall f. F...them

I am currently going threw the same exact thing where they thought I had a degree and I had noted on the application that I didn't graduate. I was wondering if your situation was resolved what should j do I'm panicking.

Crestfallen in Louisville, Kentucky said: For anyone who was interested in the outcome. Someone from Boeing Security finally called today. My offer was withdrawn. It was not a matter of disclosure, nor did they really seemed all that concerned about the actual misdemeanors. It was that it happened within the 7 year time frame (however, make sure you list everything, even past 7-10 years), even though the job doesn't require a security clearance. They didn't care about the AI but the shoplifting. If I had it expunged and sealed then Boeing Security said it would have been no issue. So in my case I can reapply as soon as I seal that record, so for me, it's a matter of waiting for that Requisition or a similar one to come up again, and ace the STAR behavioral questions again, etc ... hope this helps someone so that they aren't stuck with a withdrawal because of unfiled legal paperwork like in my case.

2 years ago I went through the same thing except for me it was with in a 5 year period. I now have applied and received a job offer and am waiting for my background check right now. I am still stressed because of how badly I want this requisition but only time will tell.

Such as can when it comes up in a background check will Boeing no longer consider me for a job. I didnt get suspended or expelled and its not on my transcript just in my conduct file.

I called the FADV who's conducting my background check. I cleared everything but this one, its been three weeks since I signed the form, they said they cannot verify my school which is out of the country. I emailed my specialist and she is no help at all about the situation. The FADV says that they sent the result to Boeing with decisional on my academic and it's up to boeing people if they will hire me. I dont think you will going to need a degree to seal an airplane but who knows ));, I am already losing hope, it's been a month since the first offer of contingencies were made.));

can you explain this a little more? Is it $7500 past due on accounts or does that mean accounts with balances over 7500 that are past due on payments ie mortgage/auto loan?

Just got the dreaded FedEx letter and hoping to know how I should ready myself for the security call.

Thanks!

I received a contingent offer from Boeing last week. I just received the "concerned" letter from Boeing Security yesterday. I scanned through the report and it shows a debt I paid ($5965) still on my credit report. Experian did not remove it from my credit report yet. I'm waiting for Boeing Security to call me back with the exact reason why they have concerns, but do you think this is what they are flagging? My other debt is a car loan of $10k and an unsecured loan of $5k, both of which I pay on time. And a few credit cards, none of which exceed $1k each. Any thoughts?

It does not matter how much debt you have - most of us have morgtages and as long as we pay things on time that looks good on a background check. The 5K that still shows as not paid will be an issue, even if you say it is supposed to be removed. You will have to work with Experian to get it removed FOR SURE so it does not show up on checks. They are probably flagging the big amount of past due/never paid debt or something else that might have come up. Just wait for the call and tell the truth. I had DUI's and told the truth and the investigator said no big deal, I disclosed them and that was all they cared about.Got the job and love working for Boeing!

If you are working in a position that deals with Finance your credit report should not come into play.

Your credit report should not come into play unless you are in a finance position. If you have applied for a position that handles finance in any way then a credit report will come up. They need to make sure any dept would not have an effect on your decision making.

Interesting, because it's for a Tranpsortation Analyst Level 3 position over at the Boeing Kent Space Center. Maybe they're more rigorous because it's on the Defense side? They haven't called me yet, I'm still waiting.

Thanks, this helps a lot. Unfortunately, it has to do with debt I owe to child support. I went through a falling out between jobs and took a huge pay cut so I had difficulties paying my child support payments. But I took out a loan just to pay off the remaining balance of the arrears.

You will have to wait until you hear Boeings' concerns. Each company uses credit reporting differently but I have seldom seen a person denied a job based on credit alone unless there was a bonding requirement.

In the future, check your credit report before applying to any job to clear up any mistakes or derogatories. www.freecreditreport.com. You are allowed one free credit report a year from each reporting bureau.

I received an e-mail from Boeing Security with each of the concerns they had regarding my credit history. 3 of the concerns have already been paid off and are at a 0 balance, and all were from 2011 to 2013. They want explanations as to why it became delinquent and what personal problems may have occurred. Do you think it will be a negative on my part if I am unable to provide receipts for each payment? The CR shows that it's been paid and the balance is 0..maybe they are just wanting to know the circumstances that surround it?

They probably do not care about receipts since it shows zero - sounds like they want to find out if you have some kind of issue that caused you to get behind in payments (drugs, medical, etc..) Just tell them the truth about the job issue causing you to fall behind in child support payments. The #1 thing they stressed to me after I got here was just tell the truth - if you tell the truth they can work with it, no matter how bad it sounds. And being between jobs does not sound that bad!

Probably. For a different company my sister had "to prove" that she once worked for a bank that went belly up. Luckily, she had all her old paystubs.

In the future, you want to save all this stuff now. No job is forever anymore.

In the middle of a virtual midlife crisis due to job loss, condo loss, met a younger person and successfully dating except...he took something from a store and we were both accused of shoplifting, been arraigned, and now - I have been offered job of a lifetime! pending background check by Inspirity - whom I have never heard of. Will I pass the background or continue my spiral downwards due to no job and getting old. Thx
