I recently accepted a position as an Assembler at the North Charleston plant. I am currently waiting on the background check to be completed by Boeing. I'm worried that my two misdemeanors from my wilder days will prevent me from getting my dream job. 1. DUI and 2. Disorderly Conduct. This job requires no security clearance, and I'm stacked with experience. So like most production jobs, is the background check mostly to make sure that I've had no "violence" charges on my record?

I wouldn't stress those too much. How long ago where the charges? They aren't looking for saints, just normal people with normal backgrounds. Please keep us posted if you get the job. I'm excited for you. I am also trying to gain employment as an Assembler, however, I am not stacked with experience, but I have already completed the Phase I training. I'm still waiting for my shot at the interview. Boeing is wanting the experience at the moment, then they progress down the line to the "others". I've been in limbo for 6 months now. Just waiting for the phone call, email, letter, whatever comes next.

Thanks for the support. I'm cleared on everything at this point, medically and otherwise, just not the background check as of yet. They go through county, state, and federal background checks which I imagine takes a little longer. My DUI was 3 years ago, and my disorderly conduct is now pending expulsion from record. So, I hope I'm in the clear seeing as all of that was before I got married and had my son. Priorities change... Anyway, good luck to you, too. I know that this position can open many career opportunities and I know that I will make this mine pending my hire. Email is most likely a contact resource as that's all I've received from them. Good luck again!

Hi, how did your case resolve? Did you originally declare the misdemeanors when you completed the job application? I hope the best for you

First and foremost I don't how anyone waiting for an update on a Boeing job could sit patiently through the process without this forum. This has been great being able to follow the Boeing hiring procedures. I am sorry for the people that haven't had the best results, but am thankful to them as well because they have enabled all prospects to view every or almost every conceivable combination to this hiring process. With that said could someone help me understand the contingincies? Everything is checked off and marked cleared or complete, however I was wondering if it needed to read passed and cleared or what the final verbage will read. Thanks to all!

I applied and went through ReadySC as mentioned elsewhere. The drug test was done the first week of phase one training and the bacground check was done within a few days. There was no place for me to check my status on-line as others have mentioned.

We were told to write down EVERYTHING with the exception of minor traffic tickets. I had a too common "incident" 27 years ago that I wrote down and was cleared within days. Although I've read or heard that they go back 7-10 years, I felt it was better to tell all. Unless you are some kind of career criminal, I don't think it will be a hold up, but don't quote me.

After all is said and done I received an email with start dates to chose from what a relief! I noticed after all was cleared it was noted in bold lettering at the top of my contengiencies. Thanks for all the insight I am so happy to be back in the saddle again!

I applied for Boeing and I got offered the job, and now I have to do a background check and drug screening. I will be fine on the drug screening but I got a driving while impaired to the slightest degree two year ago. Has anyone been hired at Boeing with a similar misdemeanor?

The intern application gave no place to write anything of the sort. How am I supposed to disclose something if they do not allow for me to disclose it? Do you recommend me calling the global staffing agent and disclosing it with her verbally?

I am a contractor working at Boeing and recently interviewed for a direct position for Boeing. I received a call within a week from the hiring manager congratulating me on job and should be receiving the offer soon.. My question is..I had a background check and drug test in July, prior to coming in as a contractor, is there any different checks that are run or is it the same screening that contract labor goes through? I obviously passed but wanted to be sure it's the same process as well as the time frame seems to take forever to receive the official offer letter. If and when I accept the offer, what is the normal time it takes to complete the background? The one I did this past Summer only took a week.

I did receive a call giving me the job but I am still waiting to see the offer come through. I understand it takes a bit of a process to make its way through the chain. So basically, if the offer is what I want, I will accept it and then the next timely process begins.

I interviewed yesterday. On the online application it only asked if i had any pending charges. I didnt have any pending charges at the time. I recently moved to Columbus Oh. I found out about some pending traffic charges from 1997. I go to court tommorow to resolve them. Do you think it will have an effect on getting hired.
My background isnt squeeky clean. No felonies or violence but i have a record. They flew me in and put me in a hotel for the interview. But once again on the online app it asked if i had any pending Charges.

Yes, you're fine then. When everything is cleared/completed, contact your global staffing specialist and ask her to work out a start date.

I have a contingent offer and completed all of the contingencies except for the background check. When I filled out the application, I recall it asked about criminal history and past employment. But I do not recall how far back it was asking for criminal and employment histories. Does anyone know how far back it asks? For some reason I think it is seven years.

Many people on this forum are stating that you should include everything even if it goes further back than seven years. I didn't. If I recall correctly, it only ask about employers 7 years from the date of the application. And it asks for criminal history seven years back as well.

I also recall it only asking about convictions or pleas of guilty. I don't recall it asking about arrests. Does anyone know if the application asks about arrests? Should I be concerned about an arrest 16 years ago for a misdemeanor that was eventually dismissed, which I didn't disclose?

My fedex letter said there is a concern about a past employer. I reported that I was terminated, but I didn't go into detail. I had only one option to check that was discharged/discharged for cause/terminated, so I checked that box. The reason I wrote was short, simply stated terminated. My background check came back and said it was a concern. I got the dreaded fedex letter.
Anyone have a similar experience? Does Boeing investigator actually call back to inquire? Or do they call back to simply tell you your offer is withdrawn? I think it would be helpful for people to know.

Lesson is to carefully fill out app. Take your time.

I would like to know if they call back to inquire on concern on report as well. I had one on my schooling..The verifications department that does the background screening, thought I had graduated when in fact they did not read the dates for the school. Since there is no option to check..current student, I put a 2013 date (proposed completion) or the application would get kicked back until you complete the box. I did not check graduated. They verified I did not graduate and the school also concurred yet they mark it as concern since I corrected them on the phone. I also had a concern on my SSN trace. They verified my SSN but I have a fraud alert on my file for a discrepancies on my credit report as well as a background check was done less than 6 months ago coming in as a contractor. I am told that neither of the two concerns are cause for dismissal or withdrawal of offer but after leaving the required message on the hotline to discuss the results, no calls are returned.

I received an offer but it had been withdrawn due to a pending court issue for neglegent driving. I did not read the question on the app clearly and had never been in trouble with the law before so I assumed since I had not been convicted yet I was persumed inoccent. Unfortunatly your not. I should have listed that. Three days after my withdrawl the court issue was cleared up but it was too late. I have until this april to re-apply. Oh well the position was in everett wich is really to far for me so hopefully this time around I can get into renton or auburn. I hope things work out for you good luck!

I heard that an applicant who received an offer did not include an employer who terminated him. Boeing background found out and withdrew the offer. My case is a little different in which I disclosed the termination but I didn't give a full explanation in the reason section. My reason was not detailed enough.

I agree. I received a call yesterday, they withdrew the offer and told me never asked me anything about the concerns on my last report which were minimal and non-fraudulant or criminal. I was told that my previous application 2 yrs ago was part of their review and they claimed I lied which I didn't, I just didn't get them the paperwork in time and I withdrew from the process. I was also told that my current contract position was under review. I arrived at work yetserday only to be confronted by my manager who then had to walk me out. Apparently, my manager was notified last friday and didn't want to release me without knowing what was going on and according to him, I am on a no-hire list for direct and contract jobs which totally sucks.

Does anyone know how long I have to wait or is this permanent? Really nice timing, before the holiday and as I was 1 month away from getting married. I never even got a chance to dispute or rebuttal the process.

They didn't say anything other than not eligible for direct position and contract under review. That was at 11 am yesterday and I feel like there is funny business going on since my manager was notified Friday. They could have told me yesterday that I was being fired. My manger was the one who told me I was on a no-hire list. Nothing in writing.

So, now I am filing for unemployment and looking for a new job. I can only hope I find something quickly. I am a planner with lots of Project Management experience and the direct job was pefect for me.

Yes they do look at previous applications and on my 1st app,I stated my schooling and degree and while some info was verified, they wanted transcrips which partly are connected to my previous military education and some in Canada. I was not able to aquire the documents in the timeframe they requested and was threated at that time with my contract position if I didn't comply. I withdrew as the person who was in charge was very rude, yelling etc and I was released. This time, I did not include the previous education as it is a headache and the position did not require it. I had issues with trying to return as a contractor in 2010, I was cleared through background check but refused at the time of obtaining my badge. The person in charge (the one who harrassed me) blocked my access saying I couldn't comme back for 180 days (which I had met at that time). This year, I was cleared once again as a contractor and blocked again, which at that time, I called back to security and left a message stting I had met the 180 days requirement and there was noo reason to block me. Apparently, security claims the clock starts over from each denial. I disputed it and 10 minutes later while sitting at the badge office, I received a call stating it was a misunderstanding and I was cleared for my badge.

I know they used me and I feel that there is injustice on their part, and I am the one who got the axe. I have always had a exceptional record with my managers, good work, etc. I would like to dispute it but I think it's a lost cause.

Was Boeing saying you should have included your previous education but failed to do so, which is dishonest? Is this all because you failed to list previous education on your application?
