I recently accepted a position as an Assembler at the North Charleston plant. I am currently waiting on the background check to be completed by Boeing. I'm worried that my two misdemeanors from my wilder days will prevent me from getting my dream job. 1. DUI and 2. Disorderly Conduct. This job requires no security clearance, and I'm stacked with experience. So like most production jobs, is the background check mostly to make sure that I've had no "violence" charges on my record? |

I wouldn't stress those too much. How long ago where the charges? They aren't looking for saints, just normal people with normal backgrounds. Please keep us posted if you get the job. I'm excited for you. I am also trying to gain employment as an Assembler, however, I am not stacked with experience, but I have already completed the Phase I training. I'm still waiting for my shot at the interview. Boeing is wanting the experience at the moment, then they progress down the line to the "others". I've been in limbo for 6 months now. Just waiting for the phone call, email, letter, whatever comes next. |

Thanks for the support. I'm cleared on everything at this point, medically and otherwise, just not the background check as of yet. They go through county, state, and federal background checks which I imagine takes a little longer. My DUI was 3 years ago, and my disorderly conduct is now pending expulsion from record. So, I hope I'm in the clear seeing as all of that was before I got married and had my son. Priorities change... Anyway, good luck to you, too. I know that this position can open many career opportunities and I know that I will make this mine pending my hire. Email is most likely a contact resource as that's all I've received from them. Good luck again! |

First and foremost I don't how anyone waiting for an update on a Boeing job could sit patiently through the process without this forum. This has been great being able to follow the Boeing hiring procedures. I am sorry for the people that haven't had the best results, but am thankful to them as well because they have enabled all prospects to view every or almost every conceivable combination to this hiring process. With that said could someone help me understand the contingincies? Everything is checked off and marked cleared or complete, however I was wondering if it needed to read passed and cleared or what the final verbage will read. Thanks to all! |

It my experience, everything said either COMPLETED or CLEARED. I waited a few days and then emailed my hiring supervisor and then she updated my account and scheduled my next appointments. I applied and went through ReadySC as mentioned elsewhere. The drug test was done the first week of phase one training and the bacground check was done within a few days. There was no place for me to check my status on-line as others have mentioned. We were told to write down EVERYTHING with the exception of minor traffic tickets. I had a too common "incident" 27 years ago that I wrote down and was cleared within days. Although I've read or heard that they go back 7-10 years, I felt it was better to tell all. Unless you are some kind of career criminal, I don't think it will be a hold up, but don't quote me. |
