Hey,

Has anyone out there done the pre employment training for Boeing. If so how long did you have to wait till after your training for them to call and place you. I finished my month long non paid training for Assembly Mechanic on 12/18/07 and was put in the candidate pool and still have not heard a thing. When I question them they say you just have to wait but I was told it usually was only a couple if not less week wait. Gosh I can't keep waiting like this, I'm ready to take another job offer. Looking for someone who has been thru it and how long it took.

Anyone out there that can help me out. Thanks

So, did you ever receive an offer?

I recently completed a pre-employment course, and no job offer as of yet.

No nothing yet. When did you complete your training? Its so frustrating.

I completed the Assembly-Electrical course 02/08/08.

I'm being offered to take the 4 week Assembly Mechanic assessment/course but I'm unsure if I should bother. Two weeks unpaid training w/o a job offer is bad enough.

Well, do post if you are offered a position, would be nice to hear some good news! Good luck.

Who did you call/email to get your questions answered?

I spoke with Boeing employment at BESS and they said they go by assesment testing scores which i knew from the begginning. Said I was in the candidate pool and they go by score essesment testing which they do not disclose. Let me know if you hear anything.

thanks

They are fooling everybody, they go by your assessment score and do not tell you the score because they want everyone to go through training so they get more money from Boeing for each person that goes to training. Everyone is put in the same pool, there is no reasonable excuse to not tell you your score except the reason of wanting you to go to training no matter how low your score is. Perhaps a lot of people out there did not pass the first assessment but were fooled to go to training anyway even though they will not be hired.
This is my story,
Our training was at Christmas o7', they made us hope, we worked very hard. i worked hard to pass my training, i had this huge hope i am going to get my job at Boeing. At that time during my training i was so patient even though i was so nervous to be on time, getting there 30 minutes early just to not be late. I did an excellent job on my 6 projects scoring a perfect 600 points 100%, also i scored 94% avg on written tests. I did not know that this made no difference because they only count your first assessment or who they want to be hired, they fooled me and hurt my feelings. I know i can do the job and have the mechanical skills to do an excellent job but they do not care, all they care is the first test. But how do we know our first score? Something needs to be done, a lot of people made a big sacrifice to go 4 weeks without pay to train for a job they are not going to get! ANY LAWYERS OUT THERE??
PLEASE HELP US

I was told last December 2007 they hired too many Assembly-electrical workers so i took the Assembly Mechanic assessment. I was so excited when they told me i "passed" the assessment. They sent me right away for my 4 week training, now it is March 2008 and all i get is stupid emails from them "congratulations you are on the candidate pool". I drove in the snow, freezing rain and worked so hard for 4 weeks to pass the training so i could get a job at Boeing. I kept this a secret from my mom so i could surprise her and she could be proud of me. Now i feel like a fool and feel stupid falling for this "job" offer. What is the training for?? is it for us or so they have a job "training" us and collecting money from Boeing? Does Boeing know this is going on?
You are right, why can't they tell you your score so you can decide if you scored high enough to sacrifice 4 weeks of unpaid training. How many people are there in the pool? thousands?

Thats awsome congradulations. How did they contact you? What plant were you placed at and is it way out of the area you live? I live in Orting so I hope they stick w/ at least Renton, if Everatt there is no way I can do that kind of commute. I was told they take your zip into consideration but on the last day of class they said we might be put in Everett. I completed mine in December too, it gives me hope.

Finished pre-employment training in March 7th and was offered a job on wing structures B on April 3rd in Everett, I am having to jump through some more hoops due to the background check and my previous job, but hopefully will have a job before May. I live in Lacey, but hear that the van pools work pretty well and after the first year hope to transfer south. All I can say is good luck and hang in there, I know of at least one other who was hired from my class recently at Auburn.

Congratulations Skawt, I'm still waiting since December 07. I have a freind who has been with Boeing for several years and he said that he has had several freinds who have done the Training and never got called because the empoyment center lost their file. Now I'm worried because I see on their website they are hiring for Assembly Mechanics the position I trained for almost 5 months ago. Does anyone have a contact number or email to contact anyone at the employment center in Seattle? I'm really starting to worry now.
Thanks I appreciate anyone's help. I did have it but since have got a new computer and lost all my contact emails.

Knowing this I'll just forget about these crazy guys. I'm not even gonna waste my time driving back to seattle to take their drug test either. Waste of time and excitement.

HI Dima, when did you apply the job? I applied around May 15, but still no phone call, but my online status still shows under consideration!

I applied sometime in december/january.
You would not get a phone call, you will get an email. Make sure that your resume is matching with their job requirement, and has lots of details. It need to have keywords from their job description in your resume. For example, if they are saying "must have experience in blue print reading", write in your resume "experience in reading blue prints".

Jeff, pay depends on what position you are applying for and what union you will be with. If you are applying for a position with the IAM 751 you can find the wage card on their web site. To know what grade you are applying for look at the last # on the job requisition # of the job you applied for and that is the labor grade for that position. Good luck to you, I just finished with my first week and it's been a fun experience.

I got an E-mail the very next morning. If you are picked, they will e-mail you instructions on when and where and what to bring. And there is no test. Not untill you go to training, then after training they interview you.

Electricians are trained on wiring bundling, and things of that nature. You have a few projects on top of the lectures then you do a day of actual rework on actual airplane parts were they look over your shoulder and decide were to place you in boeing.

They cover blue print reading, production illustrations, crimping, wire bundles and some other stuff that will make sense when your there, like clocking and keying, closing and insertion, its all pretty easy there, just gotta pay attention to where the info is cus it's all open book tests
