Hey, Has anyone out there done the pre employment training for Boeing. If so how long did you have to wait till after your training for them to call and place you. I finished my month long non paid training for Assembly Mechanic on 12/18/07 and was put in the candidate pool and still have not heard a thing. When I question them they say you just have to wait but I was told it usually was only a couple if not less week wait. Gosh I can't keep waiting like this, I'm ready to take another job offer. Looking for someone who has been thru it and how long it took. Anyone out there that can help me out. Thanks |

So, did you ever receive an offer? I recently completed a pre-employment course, and no job offer as of yet. |
|
Colleen Meschke in Orting, Washington 51 months ago |
No nothing yet. When did you complete your training? Its so frustrating. |

rezion206 in Renton, Washington 51 months ago |
I completed the Assembly-Electrical course 02/08/08. I'm being offered to take the 4 week Assembly Mechanic assessment/course but I'm unsure if I should bother. Two weeks unpaid training w/o a job offer is bad enough. Well, do post if you are offered a position, would be nice to hear some good news! Good luck. |

"When I question them they say you just have to wait but I was told it usually was only a couple if not less week wait." Who did you call/email to get your questions answered? |

I spoke with Boeing employment at BESS and they said they go by assesment testing scores which i knew from the begginning. Said I was in the candidate pool and they go by score essesment testing which they do not disclose. Let me know if you hear anything. thanks |

They are fooling everybody, they go by your assessment score and do not tell you the score because they want everyone to go through training so they get more money from Boeing for each person that goes to training. Everyone is put in the same pool, there is no reasonable excuse to not tell you your score except the reason of wanting you to go to training no matter how low your score is. Perhaps a lot of people out there did not pass the first assessment but were fooled to go to training anyway even though they will not be hired.

I was told last December 2007 they hired too many Assembly-electrical workers so i took the Assembly Mechanic assessment. I was so excited when they told me i "passed" the assessment. They sent me right away for my 4 week training, now it is March 2008 and all i get is stupid emails from them "congratulations you are on the candidate pool". I drove in the snow, freezing rain and worked so hard for 4 weeks to pass the training so i could get a job at Boeing. I kept this a secret from my mom so i could surprise her and she could be proud of me. Now i feel like a fool and feel stupid falling for this "job" offer. What is the training for?? is it for us or so they have a job "training" us and collecting money from Boeing? Does Boeing know this is going on?

rezion206 in Renton, Washington said: I have been offered a position. Hang in there.. perhaps they are getting ready for another wave of new-hires. again, GL Thats awsome congradulations. How did they contact you? What plant were you placed at and is it way out of the area you live? I live in Orting so I hope they stick w/ at least Renton, if Everatt there is no way I can do that kind of commute. I was told they take your zip into consideration but on the last day of class they said we might be put in Everett. I completed mine in December too, it gives me hope. |
|
rezion206 in Renton, Washington 51 months ago |
They contacted via a FedEx package, with some paperwork.. ANOTHER application etc. I live in Renton, but am being assinged to Everett.. heh. Oh well, I want to move anyhow. Hang in there :) |

Finished pre-employment training in March 7th and was offered a job on wing structures B on April 3rd in Everett, I am having to jump through some more hoops due to the background check and my previous job, but hopefully will have a job before May. I live in Lacey, but hear that the van pools work pretty well and after the first year hope to transfer south. All I can say is good luck and hang in there, I know of at least one other who was hired from my class recently at Auburn. |

Congratulations Skawt, I'm still waiting since December 07. I have a freind who has been with Boeing for several years and he said that he has had several freinds who have done the Training and never got called because the empoyment center lost their file. Now I'm worried because I see on their website they are hiring for Assembly Mechanics the position I trained for almost 5 months ago. Does anyone have a contact number or email to contact anyone at the employment center in Seattle? I'm really starting to worry now.

Knowing this I'll just forget about these crazy guys. I'm not even gonna waste my time driving back to seattle to take their drug test either. Waste of time and excitement. |

Jeffrey hobbs in Natchez, Mississippi said: how much do they paid i just started the procees i just got my email to sit up the test what is it about Jeff, pay depends on what position you are applying for and what union you will be with. If you are applying for a position with the IAM 751 you can find the wage card on their web site. To know what grade you are applying for look at the last # on the job requisition # of the job you applied for and that is the labor grade for that position. Good luck to you, I just finished with my first week and it's been a fun experience. |

Take Assessment Test: In order to qualify for certain positions you must pass an assessment test. An assessment scheduler will be contacting you and will schedule (or has scheduled) an assessment test. You will not be able to take the assessment test without a key provided to you by the assessment proctor. The key will be provided to you at the time when you are at the designated location and you are ready to take the assessment test. You will be locked out of the system if too many invalid attempts are made. (This includes attempts made while not at the scheduled assessment.) If you are at the assessment test location, click on the appropriate job code for which you are being assessed |

Thank for your reply Bulldog, I heard that now the Boeing hire employment processing has been changed. They pay attention on trainning more and at the end of trainning the manager will interview the trainner. Bulldog please help me in detail the PET. What do they train step by step? Thank |
|
brad b in Orting, Washington 46 months ago |
Electricians are trained on wiring bundling, and things of that nature. You have a few projects on top of the lectures then you do a day of actual rework on actual airplane parts were they look over your shoulder and decide were to place you in boeing. |
