After two weeks I was wondering what happened also and luckily I followed up right away because my previous employer was not answering their phone calls so I had to fax in a copy of my W-2 as verification of employment. The next day my background check was completed and I scheduled my orientation.

I suppose it's taking so long since, like you said, there are a bunch of people being checked at once for the same position. In my case, I was the only (or one of the very few) candidate being checked for that particular position. All my friends also had their background checks completed within two weeks. I think one of them was even completed in less than a week since he had a very short employment history. I would keep in touch with the representative every couple weeks just in case anything changes. Good luck and lets us know how it turns out!

Thanks for your info and reply and congrats on your job. And yes ill keep you posted Im still waiting =( I got a email saying " as this was clearly communicated to them that we were building a hiring pool to be staffed from within the next 90-120 days. At this point according to our records you still show as qualified and on hold. Please continue to check your BESS profile for status and to watch your e-mail for offers." and on the bottom of her email it has her desk number and phone number do you think its professional for me to call and follow up? or would i just seem like a bugga boo?

I would go by her recommendation and just check your email and BESS status often. I would probably call every two weeks or so if you haven't heard anything by then. And contact her the minute your status changes either way to make sure.

Gary, I'm just wondering what you meant by "it" in your statement that "After this, it tells me that you have to know somebody to get hired." Sorry about the position but I was in a similar situation after my very first interview with Boeing. It was my first experience in a structured interview and I thought I did well so I anxiously waited for two weeks to hear back from them. I got an email on a Saturday night telling me I was no longer under consideration. I was crushed for awhile but I kept applying and soon landed more interviews and eventually offers. Come to think of it, after going through several interviews I realize that I didn't do so well during that first interview.

Well what I meant is this... there's no doubt that most of the jobs at Boeing take knowing somebody to get hired. Not all, but most. I had three people on my interview board. The "head" interviewer stated his Father is currently employed there and has been for 35 years. Do you think that might of had something to do with him getting hired in the first place? The one interviewer sitting next to him weighed about 400 pounds with a huge beer gut. No let's see....what could he possibly do as a security guard? I thought I did good. I'm physically fit... run 5 miles a day.. I'm 6' 1' tall. As stated...been to a police academy, retired military, ex-police officer, currently employed as a Corrections officer. But, no...not good enough for Boeing. They asked me a total of 6 questions during the interview. Six questions and that's what they determine whether or not you will be hired as one of their security officers. Maybe if I had a beer guy and weighed 400 pounds I would have had a better chance to have got hired. Oh well.

As a person hired from Boeing, on my own: no internal contacts, just applying through website, I can assure you that even though you might be really qualified it is all in the interview. I blew a couple, and also got a couple offers, so I think you should make sure you really brush up on your interviewing skills.

Hi,
I had an interview about two weeks ago, then I was sent a link to fill out an application online for that same job. They have had my completed application for 5 full business days now. How long should I wait before I contact HR to follow up?

The position was a Procurement Agent 1/2 in Kent, WA. There were three open positions and I know the hiring manager is in a hurry to get the positions filled.

I am a college senior and applied for Boeing's entry level information technology rotational program. I interviewed on the phone and then in person. Within a day I got an email saying that I should recieve a contingency offer within a week. A week later, I get another email saying they are having HR issues and don't know when they will be resolved. They hope to be contacting me in the near future. What could be going on?

This is an unprecedented time at Boeing from what ive heard. There are a lot of programs hiring at the same time and resources are stretched to the max. Hang in there. It will take time but you should make sure to check in maybe every couple of weeks. If they contacted you once there's a good chance they just need to catch up.

Stay positive.

HI PLEASE HELP...
I had an interview on friday April 8th for an internship in Cape Canaveral. I was told on the same day (the 8th) that I got the internship. I was told that Boeing HR will be contacting me to get the paperwork started. I however have not heard from Boeing HR and its the 16th of April. Is this normal. Should I be worried.

Also can someone provide me some insight about what happens now. Does HR contact me through phone, email, etc. And then what happens etc.

please help and thank you

Congrats! Hang in there, as you can read in many posts here it is a long, slow process. I would just keep an eye out for emails and keep your phone close by. It seems like email is the way they like to do things and I can tell you from experience that it just takes a lot longer than you think it should. If they said you got it then you did and will just have to wait it out. they are really busy and there are many departments involved. I found that the staffing specialist I worked with never had any info for me and stated they are just waiting on emails just like me so hang in there. It's an awesome opportunity and will be well worth the wait.

I had an interview with Boeing on the 28th of April and still have not heard back from them. My status on the website says that I am under consideration. Should I contact someone and if so what is the number.
