Do you work at Borders? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

Borders is part of Amazon now, as far as I know. Go to wwww.borders.com and click on the link at the bottom of the page that says "Careers at Amazon". They are located here in Seattle. Great company.

Borders is not part of Amazon. Their eCommerce site is currently hosted by Amazon, but that will be ending in the next few weeks. Theis proprietary website (without commerce is beta.bordersstores.com/online/store/Home. There's a careers link at the bottom.

Having recent experience with Borders I can tell you that around the holidays, they made sales projections unfairly high so that they didn't have to pay out any bonuses to save money. Then they cut payroll before laying off dozens and dozens of full time managers nationwide, saving even more money. Then we heard that they are in bad financial condition and have only about 60 days to work out it out before they may have to go Chapter 11. Even Barnes & Noble is no longer interested in buying them. Working for Borders in any capacity right now would have to be considered very risky and I wouldn't recomend it. I liked the people I worked with, but the company is not in good shape with no end in sight.

I work at a Borders in CT, and it's a great job. The work is fun, the crew is great!
