Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Cabela's? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Cabela's? |

Cabela's as a company is disorganized with managment knowing little of what actally takes place. I worked at one of their distribution centers and was layed off although my attendance was perfect and my production rate was normal that of what it had to be. They could give me no reason as to why I was being layed off> i really dont think they knew. So not only do they lay me off but several other good workers with much similair attendance and production. So what else do they do.

I wore casual clothes that I was willing to get dusty or dirty. Basically your jeans and t-shirt with tennis shoes. Any get togethers outside of work is entirely on the employees individually. As far as morale and work, they did provide holiday meals like turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, etc holidays, and every now and then a rewarding lunch for great productions in the department- (i.e. a 'pizza party')

I see this in their Wisconsin store...I have seen many highly qualified good employees get the boot, and the lackies are still there. They also seem to be trending toward firing the full time original employees and replacing them with part-time people at $1.25 less/hour. |

They say there not but you can see it plain as day. They do let the ones that do there job go. The ones don't know anything they keep. |

I have worked for this company 15 years and sure I have had my moments of unhappyness. But if you don't like what you are doing transfer out. |
