BB2Y: Perhaps things are a little different in Illinois than here in Ohio. I have contacted EEOC (what is ADEA) regarding my situation, I am 61 years old and was 60 when I left CNG. They will only attempt to do something once you have filed for unemployment and it has been denied after going thru the hearing process. My final hearing is this Thursday in Columbus at 9AM. If it is denied after this hearing, then I can re-contact EEOC and Civil Rights and they will attempt to do something. I too, filed a complaint about my 11 day DDO with HR prior to my termination, which I have stated the complete reasons in an above post. My complaint was, blatent and intentional hostile work environment, his lies and harrassment. I was terminated 4 days later. Again, what is ADEA, never heard of that.

By the way; I did send an email to this, John Lacombe at CapAmerica last evening and have not received any response. Now, I'm wondering if this supposed company is not some type of a set-up for CNG. It really wouldn't surprise me, knowing how CNG does business. Time will tell, I'll let you all know, when, and if, I get a response from him. |

ADEA Age Discrimination Employment Act it is a FEDERAL law,Check N Go has several of these complaints under investigation and you can contact the Civil Liberties Union in your state. If you are over 40 you have protection under federal law... The Civil Liberties Union will help you file the paper work and forward it to the EEOC. Under Federal Law you cannot be discriminated against because of race, gender, age, disablilities and just because you don't fit the corporate image which they are trying to make for themselves. The Unemployment Board in IN have forwarded information to the Attorney Generals Office because of the new OHIO ROM that is why she left IN was so they had to find her. There is someone that may be able to help you I have a phone number if you are intersted. |

BB2Y: I just received an email back from CapAmerica. And, I am quite familiar with the EEOC and Ohio Civil Rights, age, gender, religious, racial and disabilities acts. I just had never heard the term ADEA. But, as I said prior, Illinois must handle things quite different from Ohio. I would, however, like to have the phone number from you, just to find out exactly how they do handle these types of issues. Thanks. |

CNG worker in Indiana said: Burnt Out: My problem is that you are correct, they hire their staff from another payday loan company but make their employees sign a non-compete agreement and will use it against you if you try to go to work for another payday loan company. How fair is that? Not always the ROM has written glowing letters of recommendations for some of her pets to go to the competition and get jobs across the street and compete against CNG of course these were the ones that no longer were useful or had bad numbers so she sends them there to stack the deck and help out CNG and the competitors are to stupid to know what she is doing she has a spy inside to feed her info |

Oh - and if you all get a chance stop by our new Virginia activism site. You all may have heard the slogan "Virginia Is For Lovers". Given the fact that Virginia law is so favorable to lending predators, we thought the tag line "Virginia Is For Victims" rung more true. John |

BURNT OUT: Are you at the East Broad Street store ??? What would I be scared of? Just please be careful since you called HR. When Maurice first started as DDO, remember, there were only five people total (both mgrs. ans csr's) after a lot of people were terminated. Staffing is not an issue with CNG. |

This is for JOHN LACOMBE OF CAP AMERICA
Keep up your fight for the Consumer. They believe CNG is there to help them in their time of need. Sadly they have been completely mislead! I regret each day that I worked for this company and did my best to convince these people who were already struggling to take out a larger loan than what they actually needed or could afford. I continuously remind myself that it was only on the direction of the company that I done this and if I wanted to keep my job it had to be done. We received write ups that took our bonus, a bonus that was based on our ability to honestly cause the consumer hardship! If your stores "ALA"(Average Loan Amount)had decreased, meaning if your customers did not take the max amount or chose a smaller amount from their last loan (generally when they were trying to pay it down)that affected our stores performance. When that happened we were scolded like children for not convincing them to do other wise. The"poor performers" were pointed out either on a conference call or in a meeting. After the humiliation in front of others that were praised for their ability of talking the consumer in to going further into debt, you were left feeling like a worthless Manager and then written up! I am curious if the Representatives in the state of Virginia are aware of this? If not they need to be! I know I have write ups that specifically state that I had failed to meet the companies expectation as a Manager because my "A.L.A" was higher the month and/or quarter prior.

Burnt Out and Never Again: I have read your previous comments, obviously you feel as though they plan to get rid of you, if that is the case then by all means now is your time to fight back! Who cares who sees what? CNG never cared about a single law that they violated on a daily basis. Our information is based on facts, for what reason would we need to worry about anything? We are the victims here! Remember? |

I was addressing my comments those of us who are unfortunately still working here, although I'm sure my days are very numbered...The ROM you are speaking about has this site and has read every word, she also has talked to others that comments were made about, if it werent for the fact that the mandatory managers meeting is tomorow ,and she needs me to not attend so that a much less tenured employee can go, I am sure I would be terminated tomorow...so now I have something to look forward to on Thur, if not then deffinatly within the next two to three weeks...Anyone know of anyone hiring in the Columbus area ??? |

I totally agree with what everyone has said. As long as you are telling the fact and not fiction you should not worry about a thing. I have written proof that they screwed me out of my bonus so when this does eventually go to court they will have to explain why on paper, that they put out, is different then what they actually gave me. And if there are spies on here, just like BB2You and Devistated said it won't last long and you will be like all the others GONE!!!!!! |

BURNT OUT: As I have stated in prior comments. I will NEVER post anything on here that I would not state under oath in a court room and have documentation to back up my comments. I also told you that Mark Dawson,DDO will, in fact be in Columbus for my hearing on Thursday morning. Please, (and I can't emphacize this enough) be careful. My contention is, and always has been, if you have a gut feeling, then it will nost likely transpire. I couldn't care less who from CNG is reading anything I state as fact on here. I really hope they do read my comments, then they will be aware that they messed with the wrong person. Eventually, "what goes around also comes around". |

CNG worker said: The average starting salerie for a CNG employee is based on experience.I would say depending on the market you are in, a new Store Manager coming in is started off @ at least $30,000 a year.We also have a bonus plan that is paid out once a quarter and based on how your business (store) is doing. You have the ability to make up to $8,000.00 a year in bonuses and a Dual Store Manger (Manages 2 CNG locations) Has the ability to get up to $16,000.00 A year in bonuses. They offer Full time AND Part Time benefits, Full Time benefits are through Blue Cross Blue Shield, they offer Vacation time and sick time for all Full Time Employess..and you DON'T have to wait a year to take it..You automatically get it the first day you start working and can take it after you have been w/the company for 90 days. They have life insurance, accident insurance and a 401K w/company match. They are also a member of the Missing children Network. The hours are great..You don't have to worry about Saturday nights are Sundays.Typically a CNG Branch is open Monday-Saturday and closing no later then 7 pm during the week and typically closing on Saturday 2-3.Again, depending what market you are in, hours will vary. They are closed for the 6 major holidays and they are paid as well.If the Holiday falls on a Sunday then you can take it in the form of a "Floating Holiday" at a later date. They cut out the 4 day work weeks in my region. They didn't feel we could do our jobs as managers correctly otherwise. |

Coping in Morristown, Tennessee said: They cut out the 4 day work weeks in my region. They didn't feel we could do our jobs as managers correctly otherwise. In Ohio, they had managers and csr's working at least one and sometimes two nights per week making collection calls, until as late as 9PM. There are still some employees that are mandated to go in to their stores on Sundays and holidays to make these collection calls. These calls, for the most part, wouldn't be needed if CNG didn't have the policies in action that they do. IE: bonuses being based on fee retention and low debt. It's a two way street with them. Keep the fees up and exceed the prior month, keep the debt down, get new customers every day >VS< be responsible and actually help the customer get out of the payday loan cycle, attempt loaning less to the typical every week customer (not the max), realize that the economical situation nationwide is bad and stop preying on the people that have a financial problem. They can't possibly have the best of both worlds just to try and be the largest payday loan company in existance. Plain and simple: if you don't build fees, and customers, yet keep debt low; keep expenses low with less staff, therefore working in an unsafe environment; bottom line > termination. Total "greed" and "lack of moral standards" must be their motto. The Corporate people (for the most part) have NEVER worked in an individual office, but feel they know all about what it takes. FOR THOSE THAT ARE DDO's AND ABOVE AT CORPORATE READING THESE POSTS; "HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES > REMEMBER, WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND". I'M SURE BY NOW YOU HAVE ALL FIGURED OUT WHO I AM, GUESS WHAT, I HOPE SO, BECAUSE I DON'T CARE. YOU SHAFTED ME, ONE OF THE BEST MANAGERS YOU HAD,(and I do have tons of documentation to that effect) AND I WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT. YOU DON'T "OWN" ME ANYMORE!!!!!! |

Micromanaged is right. I don't even feel like the manager of my store anymore. I'm just a CSR in reality. They're so afraid they'll miss something or you'll defraud them in some way. Have any of you been to the Corporate offices? The "ivory tower" as some call it is above and beyond comprehension. (The Executive Offices) Throughout the long hallways are huge pictures of all of the Corporate "special events" (parties), they have to pay for these somehow. The fees generated go to pay for the trips to Las Vegas that they choose to call, DDO & ROM & RVP meetings. Yeah, right! Completely and utterly rediculous waste of customers fee monies. the Tennessee turnover doesn't surprise me a bit. You should see what the Ohio turnover is now >>HUGE! |

Dah, I already know that answer, blatent harrassment and intimidation from a DDO. I really do, sincerely hope, that the DDO, in question reads these comments as well as Corporate people. When that Myspace web-site was initially started in 2006, the manager wrote, "check n go has an open door policy and a non retaliation policy", so she felt they were all safe from anything.....WRONG....that is only a statement they make in an attempt to protect themselves. It is totally non-existent in reality. |

LEGram said: STAY COMPLETELY AWAY from this company. They are a high pressure payday loan/sales company. The average starting salary for a new manager is $24,000-$26,000 annually. The quarterly bonuses they claim to have are next to impossible to achieve with their bad standards. They demand that employees promote loans to anyone and everyone on a constant basis and push the customer to borrow more than they want and can afford to pay back. This company has no compassion for their managers or csr's. The people at the corporate level have never worked in an individual store location, but mandate blanket policies regardless of demographics, location and economy. They demand that the manager's and csr's push loans on everyone that walks thru the door. I spent over 10 years building and maintaining high moral standards in this company, just to be ostricized and condemned by a (1 week into being my supervisor) (DDO). They are trained to be condesending,arrogant,know-it-all individuals, although the majority of them are new hires that have never worked for this company nor in this field before. This started out to be a good company in the beginning, but have gone by the wayside and downhill over the past 5 years due, primarily, to excess greed and lack of moral standards. You guys are not going to believe this. I guess they are offering my store to the CSR and she is considering taking it. She has been there all through the crap they have put me through and is still considering taking it. I also found out the DDO that was over my store drove past a new payday loan company twice in my town to see if I am working there. He told the CSR that they are going to watch that new business regularly to see if they can catch me working there. They are allowed to write recommendations for their favorite employees to go to work for the competition but the employees they don't like get harrassed if they try to work for the competition. Little do they know I don't work at that new place. It just kills me the extremes this company will go through to keep screwing you even after your gone. Why can't they just let it go. |

I also had documentaton that he was not aware I had. My old csr is no longer employed with CNG either. I had a supeona issued to her and thru the grapevine, I was told the day before that "someone" told her to just ignore it and not go. She didn't show up. I guess I will get something in the mail, regarding a determination. I fully intend to appeal this if I do not get the back unemployment. This will go to a court room if that happens. |
