I was told many years ago by then, Corp.people, that CNG wanted to eventually buy out the McKenzie Group. They own Advance America and National Cash Advance. I really don't see Mckenzie trying to buy CNG with the rep. they have and still being under so many lawsuits across the country and still having pending lawsuits within the Davis family between the Dad and the Boys. |

This is the current suit for the state of CA hr.blr.com/news.aspx?id=77971 March 18, 2008
Now, in Murphy v. Check 'n Go of California, Inc., Calif. Court of Appeals (Dist. 1) No. A114442 (2007), a California appeals court has affirmed the ruling. The appellate court tracked the reasoning of the California Supreme Court in a recent case involving class action waivers in wage and hour lawsuits. There, the high court had ruled that the following factors had to be examined to determine a class action waiver's validity: (1) the size of the recovery sought; (2) the potential for retaliation against class members; (3) whether absent class members may be ill-informed about their rights; and (4) other obstacles that may make individual arbitrations not feasible |

I have received no response from that point on. He does have all of my contact info, but still "no response." Maybe you have more info on him and this "class-action: moving forward. I was terminated 1 week ago today. I've filed for unemployment and filed a formal complaint with EEOC. The DDO was the only one there (no WITTNESS)when i was terminated. The store was located in a high debt area and the debt was high when I transferred in from another dist. I was tolded i was terminated because of performence althougth the debt was lower when I was terminated. From the the very time I met the DDO he was very cold towards me for no reason, he was rude, condasending ass-hole from block buster. He would come in to do audits seachering for fraud of which there was none,he would try to start fights over the smallest issues and when i would standup to defend myself he was besides himself. I am 60 yrs. old and I feel I that he wanted me out for that reason and I have medical problems which i discussed with him(I never shold have done that) it shortly after that I let go.I am not new to check n go and I knew my job and was not going to let him make my feel that I didn't know my job. He han't been with the company a year yet and had never operated a store. Of course he had those more exiperenced store managers doing his work for him to make him look good. What need to know from some of you what can I expect from Check n go now? |

I was 60 when Iwas terminated after 10 plus years with CNG. I was terminated because I fled a complaint against my DDO of 1 week. (He said I broke "a rule.") I have a heart condition and had to take nitro in front of him at one point. He couldn't have cared less. Good luck, my unemp has been denied and I am now fighting it. CNG is ruthless!!!!!!! |

Expect to be screwed with...however...they cannot terminate your employment to "performance" , if indeed that performance issue was based on your debt, since that is an incentive that is part of your bonus, in other words, they cant terminate you based on something that is an "extra". I hope this helps, and good luck with your uneployment, make sure to let them know that the debt is part of your incentive. |
|
BURNT OUT and NEVER AGAIN in Columbus, Ohio 4 months ago |
Call HR.....I know its not fun, but make sure you get a exact reason for your discharge and make sure you record the converstation, that way, they cant back out of what they told you...thats what I did!! |
|
LEGram in Ohio 4 months ago |
Sorry, "Burnt Out", but the "debt" is a part of daily business at CNG. Even thogh it is encompassed into the, so called-bonus program, it's irrelevent because is is part of daily operations. Each state varies in their respectice unemployment laws and I believe he/she can legitimately be terminated for high debt if there had been prior warnings (either written or verbal) regarding the debt. Tha doesn't make it right, but in all probability, the unemp. will be denied. CNG has a unique knack of making something bogus thru Hunter Consulting. Hunter is the company that handles CNG unemp. When "performance" is stated as an issue for termination, CNG can, and will, come up with a reason for denial. Just like with mine>> I broke a rule >> they make up their "rules" as they go!!! |
|
BURNT OUT and NEVER AGAIN in Columbus, Ohio 4 months ago |
You are correct LE, however, if you push the point of debt being part of an "extra", depending on the state of course, you cannot be penalised for something that you get extra monies for |
|
BURNT OUT and NEVER AGAIN in Columbus, Ohio 4 months ago |
Conda Snake, check the laws in your state regarding incentives, and whether or not they can be used as a performance issue in termination |

I would suggest since you are in CA try the attorneys listed above in the Murphy V CNG since they obviously handle employment law see if they have any suggestions maybe you can join the lawsuit there... I recently got a check for over 9000.00 from a previous employer because they wrote an illegal contract which violated Labor laws and had to go back and pay us overtime since we were not exempt employee... that is what that suit in CA is all about... I am sure they are handling other issues as well as the OT |

Lawsuits? Is that all you people can think about? We have been watching this thread for some time. You all have some explaining to do! Don't you understand that when we hired you you signed your lives away to us? I own all of you now, and I have come to regulate. So what if were ripping people off, you know you enjoyed watching those poor losers suffer as much as I do. Your all just upset that you aren't part of the game any longer. So - stop crying over spilled milk. And remember, now that you don't work for us any longer, we're here should you need a payday loan! BTW - I have a new blog I'll be updating daily. It's kind of a way for the common person to have a connection with me, being an important big shot CEO and all that. Feel free to check it out. David |

Well I see someone has a sense of humor since everyone knows David Davis wouldn't take time out of his "busy" schedule to talk to the people who put their lives on the line for him and pays for his lifestyle... and we don't doubt what has been said above since most have experienced it you forgot the part about breaking an entry, forgery, and perjury... But again I say CNG is worse than the Mafia since the Mafia has a code of ethics CNG could NEVER meet their standard they can't meet the standards of the state and local governments which are so less stringent. They are little boys who play "dress up" little wanna be's |

No I havent, dont know if my case would be something they would be interested in, although, I was terminated aproximately 2 weeks after I called HR to file a complaint against my new DDO! |
|
BB2You in Chicago, Illinois 4 months ago |
says the case is against 409 Group INC. also naming Leane Sargent, Timothey Tirey, Monica Reynolds, Rebecca Guttstein, Maryelln Haffner and John and Jane Does. Says denied on april 1, 2008 the defendants motion to dismiss but would send it to arbitration and has put a hold on pending the outcome of that arbitration. I don't think the court fully understands that the agreement most people signed when and if they signed were exempt for arbitration IF the action or complaint was in violation of the FEDERAL LAWS. CNG has hid behind this before and the courts should be examining those signed agreements for original signatures and writing samples from the plaintiffs. And CNG hides behind the non existant OPEN DOOR policy since if an employee does get a meeting scheduled top ranking company officials sit and watch TV rather than participate RIGHT??? One of those corporate officials are named in this suit. Besides when she had a complaint with the EEOC they offered a mediation process and if CNG refused to mediate then the right to sue should exempt CNG I think since they had their chance to mediate. |

i have read all the other posts and i do have this to say. I recently quit check n go after 2+ years of employment. Check N go was good to me and I had an awsome DDO. She left the company around Sept of 2007. After that new management came in. One of my first meeting with new management was me getting written up over debt. My store always had high debt and never was i even so much as spoken to about it since I was doing everything within in cng guidelines. When the rom from IN come over I new it was time to leave. I do want to say that some on here have been talking bad about Dawson and in my opinion he is a great DDO. |

Well FYI all are welcome this is a public forum and all Americans have the freedom of speech it is our constitutional right. I know some DDO's care just don't let CNG know or you will be out. Just ask those that have been in that position. My husband and I both worked for CNG and had it not been for my DDO keeping my issues separate from my spouse it could have been uglier than it was. He (husband) was discriminated against, called names, by-passed for promotions and raises despite his top 12 rankings two years in a row because of his complaint filed with the EEOC and HR and then retaliated against also. He finally quit when he also was told he had to do things that was not in his mind good business or ethical. We have been waiting for over a year now on the AEDA complaint but have moved on with our lives and both work for different companies now. |

This is the way CNG works. They forced out 2 of my DDO's. One quit due to retaliation, harassment & would stand up for his people and the other was fired because he would not treat his people like crap and said he was not a right fit for the company which means he would not screw his staff. Both of these DDO's were great in my opinion but because they would stand up for their people they were treated like crap and retaliated against. CNG only wants people that are willing to screw people and bring them down. Well CNG has another thing coming...they are the ones that are going down!!!!!!!! |

DDO Not Important in Murfreesboro, Tennessee said: I recognize a former DDO may not be welcomed to this site, just so you know, it happens to us as well. It appears as though you had some standard of ethics, unlike the DO that terminated me for "PROTECTING" company assets when I was being cased-out by three male persons walking around in my parking lot and eventually came in my store asking lots of questions about how we give out loans. (cash or via checks)I was counting out money on the counter, in front of the camera, not where the safe was and hid the money in a box when they started to walk in. That, in fact is what he terminated me for...PROTECTING COMPANY ASSETS!!! I called Vashti Chapman and filed a complaint for intimidation and him creating a hostile work invironment and asing very personal questions such as: favorite color, birth date, favorite restraunt, hobbies, what do you do in your spare time when not at work and family status....I was terminated five days later....Join the group...CNG is ruthless!! I am glad I was so instrumental in my testimony in Ohio to get the HB passed to regulate payday loan companies...now, at least, I have a clear conscience and can live with myself! |

I can't believe some of the whining by these former CNG employees who in many cases were terminated for violating company policy. In fact, during my training, the DDO fired one of the veteran store managers of 11 years for stealing money. It was my 1st week with CNG and I saw it first hand. Most workers at CNG are honest and good, hard working individuals. There is an old saying about 'not feeding the fish'. The rumor mill that some of these folks talk about are clearly demonstrated on this board by THEIR behavior. That is why most if not all of these individuals are not with the company. Move on with your lives. |
