ex devoted worker in Washington, District of Columbia

Chevy chase bank laid off alot of long term workers in january so they could get cheaper temp help to do the job for less money. It did not matter what position you had there. This place is going down hill fast. In my time there, i saw so many federal regulations broken it wasnt even funny. The home equity devision did a huge loan for a former head of the boards son. this guy was a dc mayor candidate who had possibly the worst credit we had seen. His name wont be told but it does rhyme "bichelle crown". Chevy Chase turns down a customer because their credit score is 1point off, but they do major exceptions and break many federal regulations, on a regular basis for top execs and their friends and family.

I believe it. They have a golf pro on payroll who is related to one of the CEO's..I am sure he wasnt one of the 400 employees they laid off yesterday. I worked there for many many many years, and if you were not part of the "gold old boys network" you were never promoted, you never got a decent raise. They also harrassed many women on a regular basis, allowed bullyism in the workplace and more. If you go to HR to complain about the behaivor of the so-called management, your job gets eliminated...This is how they treat employees who worked there almot half their lives.

I will be happy the day that the OTS takes over them and they go belly up!!

I am sorry to say that "Chesty in Laurel" is way off base. I can only assume it was not "that bad" to work there for abt 10 years. Reality check: The economy was not bad for this whole time. I have to agree with "CCBROCKS" it is a very good company with 10+ years I can say they have great benefits. MANY MANY people that leave to move to other areas, or leave for "better" opportunities come back. I would have to say more then 50% of the people not counting tellers.
While I can not say I have always liked every single person that has worked there, I am sure you can not say you have found that at every single company you have worked for. I am shocked you find it required to bad mouth a company you have been at for 10ish years. I am sure any human with a logical thinkig would say so..... You either have a bad attitude, bad work ethic, or poor quality or work speed. I am honored you were layed off, so now you can find a job that meets your requirements. I hope you get off everyweekend, work 9-5, never asked to go above and beyond for your customers, co-workers, and or company. While I can not say there is "rumors of CCB" are not true, I hope it is not. I find going to work each day a JOY, I love working to help others. I love making a difference in others lives. I am glad we dont have you to bring our company down any longer. I am sure you got a "meets expectation" because you did exactly what is in your job duties, however not an ounce more. I am sure you had your desk cleaned up, phones off, and papers away so you could punch "right on time" so you could be in your car no later then 5:00 or the specific time you got off. It is said to see you so bitter. Real think about this....
If you had such a horrible experience, why did you stay so long? was your health, dental, visiion insurance, 401K, vacation, sick leave, personal days all just not comparable? I think it is beter then where I used to work. Did you get better at your new company?
